Off the beaten track, Bordeaux, worth a visit

We only ventured into the restaurant as it was recommended by a resident as a family run restaurant and excellent food. Tried phoning to make a reservation - answerphone, web site did not work too well either. As it was just around the corner we popped in and made a reservation, must say I did... read more

We walked into this place not knowing what to expect but walked out happy and very well fed. Decor may seem a bit shabby chic or well worn to some but the food and the service were both great and makes the decor less important. We were met by Sylvana (owner and hostess) and we were seated in the garden... More

You ascend an antique staircase to a pleasant high-ceilinged chamber, are seated near a geranium-bordered window that overlooks a cobblestoned street. You are given a kir and an ample helping of huitres (oysters). The waiter is also the owner; madame is cooking her magic in the kitchen. You are in France. The meal unrolls at a leisurely pace; excellent wine... More

Rather different kind of restaurant. Friendly family team: made to feel welcome. Unusual premises for restaurant but homely and with nice touches. Great meal and service: nice wine. Will go back I hope.

An unsual restaurant in the old lounge of a tradition stone town house, out of the main part of the old centre of Bordeaux, but still only a couple of minutes from Place Gambetta. Really excellent food, well presented. We had the 24€ three courser, and it was splendid. Le Patron (and chef) does not speak English but Madame has... More

I went here with my 23 year old niece and we lingered for 2 hours at a pink linen covered table with a fire roaring in the fireplace. Run by a husband(chef) and wife (waitress), this is a charming and unpretentious restaurant that serves very good food at unbelievably reasonable prices. For 18 Euros I had an entree/appetizer of 8... More
