OK !!!

At short notice we called in at Fernand Restaurant on the river front in Bordeaux. On arrival we were greeted with open arms. Then we asked for the plate of the day, which was advertised outside at 16.90 euros a head and then it went down hill. The staffs attitude changed, probably because we... read more

We enjoyed a truly French lunch experience at Fernand next to the quai in Bordeaux. The prices were reasonable, but the menu only in French. We viewed an employee make steak hache table side. We had octopus pasta for a main dish, and sherbet with expresso for dessert. It would have been better if the wait staff spoke some English,... More

We had a lovely meal here, the house white wine is superb! Staff all speak English and ask them for recommendations for your food.

I was invited by some friends to have dinner in the down-town of Bordeaux. They choose this restaurant and it was the best choice for that evening. We were seated quickly and with great charm, and the waiters were very friendly. I had a plate with oysters and Magret de canard. We had a good red Bordeaux wine and a... More

I was referred to the Fernand Restaurant by the concierge at my hotel. I was so pleased by the food and service at the Fernand that I came back for dinner again next day. Very kind and attentive waiters, good recommendations, fantastic food and wines. Stay outside on the terrace and enjoy the nice view of the Garrone banks. Prices... More

The location was nice as it is located just across the street from the river. We were seated quickly, but that was the best part of our experience. I ordered beef....very tough...my daughter order chicken which was ok. I ordered a glass of wine (mistake #1). It tasted sour so I returned it...only to see it wasn't removed from my... More

We were looking to find respite from an untimely gale and found this restaurant by the Garonne riverside ! Nice cozy place and a lovely diner type decor. Food was delicious however a tad pricey. My partner and I had a nice time though! Cheers,

We went to Fernand for dinner. The food was pleasant but no more; oysters (which appear to be a speciality of the place) were decent, but those you can for example sample at the Sunday market in the Chartrons area are better. Service was a little sketchy - our table was attended to by two different waiters. Prices are a... More

We had supper there. Oysters seem to be specialty as we noticed every table ordered them, minus us. I had the sea bass and hubby had the lamb. Food was good with typical pricing for a higher end restaurant. Service for okay but we didn't order bottles of wine so water refills never happened. Crieme brûlée was great and topped... More

We had great company, great wine (Chateau Siran Margaux 2004) and large appetites. We were also a large group of 16 with varied expectations, children and many many questions. The staff was baffled but they adjusted quickly to our needs. Some confusion with orders but nothing that wasn't quickly fixed. Pricey... we ended up paying close to 90€ per head.... More
