We went to Fernand for dinner. The food was pleasant but no more; oysters (which appear to be a speciality of the place) were decent, but those you can for example sample at the Sunday market in the Chartrons area are better. We had supper there. Oysters seem to be specialty as we noticed every table ordered them, minus us. I had the sea bass and hubby had the lamb. Food was good with typical pricing for a higher end restaurant. Service for okay but we didn't order bottles of wine so water refills never happened. Crieme brûlée was great and topped... More

We had great company, great wine (Chateau Siran Margaux 2004) and large appetites. We were also a large group of 16 with varied expectations, children and many many questions. The staff was baffled but they adjusted quickly to our needs. Some confusion with orders but nothing that wasn't quickly fixed. Pricey... we ended up paying close to 90€ per head.... More

Fernand used to be better but the last time a was a bit disappointed. The food is a bit average as is the service. It still is nice when you can sit outside on the terrace.

Visiting this beautiful city for the first time. Thought we would take advantage of the weather and the views by the river, and have a meal at this well presented restaurant. What a mistake!! Asked for a table for 6 (no one else in the place) and was rudely asked by an individual in a grubby t shirt, if we... More

We were recommended to visit this restaurant but were extremely disappointed. The seafood platter was good but took almost an hour to arrive, no real problem as we sat enjoying the evening. However, we had both ordered sole for the main course, when they arrived the skin and the meat was tough as old boots, in our opinion it had... More

Used to come here a few years ago, but this time found it very average, not great food, my fish course looked and tasted as if it had been hanging around at the pass for along time. The cafe fernand desert course was the best part of the meal.

I had a reservation for tonight at 7pm, and I received a text (from The Fork) at 5:45pm saying that my reservation was canceled. No explanation given. Very poor form, Fernand.

Judging by the reviews this is a marmite type of restaurant - people seem to love it or loath it in equal measure. We had a truly memorable lunch sitting outside. We speak French but staff could and willingly spoke English, were friendly and attentive. We shared a starter ( langoustines) and a plate of cheese before we had dessert,... More
