Innovative yet charming twist on traditional Bordeaux menu

This restaurant is geared to the local downtown Bordeaux community. The style is more cosmopolitan than the belle epoque restaurants along Allees de Tourny. It is fun and modern with a fresh distinctive menu. We started with salads and a (free) light cauliflower soup. Then my husband had... read more

This restaurant is geared to the local downtown Bordeaux community. The style is more cosmopolitan than the belle epoque restaurants along Allees de Tourny. It is fun and modern with a fresh distinctive menu. We started with salads and a (free) light cauliflower soup. Then my husband had scallops while I had another fish. The presentation was great. This was a lovely little restaurant which we found after the first 2 places we aimed for (from trip advisor) were closed and didn't exist! We are so glad though! This restaurant is beautifully presented and the food was the same! It was quiet which we found a shame as it was great. The waitresses were so helpful and (despite... More

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. It was recommended by someone in the hotel. First of all the menu is in French and the staff has very limited english so communication was difficult, ahh the French attitude. Because they knew we spoke English, the service was very slow since there was much reluctance to approach our table. I got... More

Dined with our 2 children (6, 7). This looks like the type of restaurant which in UK would not accomodate children, however there were also 2 other families dining that evening. The interior is very modern and stylish. The glassware on the table set out very contemporary way. The chefs and kitchen area are visible to diners, adding to the... More

Really liked this restaurant. Modern design, relaxed but attentive service. We had the main €39 menu which allows you to pretty much eat anything off the a la carte and thought all courses were fantastic. Good for couples or groups. Really friendly staff (who spoke English and explained the menu when my very poor French failed). Highly recommended. It's not... More

My husband and I made a reservation for M De Monbadon but it was not necessary as we arrived early (8pm) and it was midweek. We ordered from a limited midweek specials menu and had 3 courses each for about $28 euros per person. All of our food was nice, well seasoned and well cooked. The chocolate creme brulee for... This restaurant is just wonderful. The staff are so cheerful and welcome you warmly. They will patiently explain anything you need in English. The food was fabulous and definitely worth making the online booking in advance. I ordered 3 courses from the menu which was only 39 Euro + drinks. This was such good value for money given I had... This restaurant was recommended to us by our french neighbour and boy was it worth a visit. It probably does the best fillet steak with a red wine jus to die for, in the world! My world anyway. We have visited this restaurant now on a number of occasions and consistently have fabulous food. The scollops are also lovely. Fabulous... More

Nice menu, great food, nice room with an open kitchen, friendly service! The only backdraw: a bit dificult to find, in a little street! Apart from that, great experience!
