Charming - the best meal we had in Bordeaux

We had tried to find this restaurant because of the reviews but couldn't find it - we were looking for somewhere to eat on a Friday night & came across it. We were the 1st people in there but it gradually filled up; a very convivial atmosphere - we were sitting by the door & as people walked in... read more

We were put off walking in here initially because it seemed almost empty compared to other more buzzy restaurants and bars surrounding it. However we went back and had a lovely meal. Madame's service was kind and attentive. The menu was reassuringly short but well chosen. The wine list was reasonably priced. The portions, especially the main courses, were huge... More

This quaint and homely little restaurant was recommended to us by another highly rated Tripadvisor reviewed restaurant at which we weren't able to obtain a booking. No disappointment eventuated, in fact, the complete opposite. There were no chandeliers, no expensive silverware, the decor was rustic and a little flea-market looking and the chinaware doesn't match. But... The food was simply... More

Le Plat a' Oreilles is a small cozy intimate restaurant near Place du Parlement. The atmosphere is very relaxing. There was not excessive noise which made our dining most enjoyable. Our server was very efficient tending to us when needed but not hovering. The food and wine were excellent and reasonably priced. This is a very comfortable restaurant to enjoy... More

I was the only English speaker in this small restaurant. The smell was encouraging and smelt of home cooking. The vegetables and other ingredients all tasted fresh. I found the portions generous and the choice of wines good. Service was from one lady who was helpful with my Gluten Free needs. The venue is small and homely - you felt... More

On a weekend break and wish we had found this restaurant earlier as we had some dubious meals before! 3 of us had the Normandy pork and 1 had the Beef and we all agreed it was all fabulous. The flavours of the food were amazing and the meat very tender and so tasty. The lady who served us was... More

A nice small place with seating for approximately 20 inside. We were able to get a reservation about 1 hour before dinner. The service was good but not overly friendly. There was one lady who I think was the wife of the chef. She had to turn away several parties during the evening as they were full and they have... More

Rustic food in a great setting. The service was very friendly and despite my attempt to speak French was a total failure, their English was good enough for us to work it out! The value for this food was good and in an area that at times can feel a little like it is pandering to what tourists expect of... More

It's a typical french restaurant with nice local cuisine, a very kind attendant and fabulous "joue de boeuf". Everything is fresh and herbs are cultivated by themselves. Even the chocolate and sweets that come with the coffee are homemade. And we had an outstanding dessert. A small and cozy restaurant with simple decor and amazing cuisine. We will come back!

Had a really nice meal here. It's a tiny restaurant but the food was good and the service pleasant. It's a bit different and more hearty fare than most of the other places we tried in Bordeaux, but definitely tasty and well priced.
