It's slightly off-putting to arrive somewhere for dinner and be the only people on the place after 8pm on a Saturday night. However, within a short while we were joined by a couple of other tables of people, and all was well! The food here is good, hearty Bordelaise stews and the like - very tasty and superbly cooked, with... More

After reading all the rave reviews we booked a table expecting great things. We needn't have booked because at 8pm on a Friday evening in June we were the ONLY customers when we arrived. We ordered a couple of stews/casseroles which are the house speciality: one beef, one lamb - 15Euros each. They were both pretty good, including a rich... More

We went early and got one of the last un-reserved tables at this petite delight. Our food, the DEE-licious Normandy-style pork, was served in copper casserole pans. We also shared the tarte tatin for dessert. One of the best meals on our trip.

We chose this restaurant according to the trip advisor ratings. The restaurant was fully booked but did not feel too busy. The service was good, but as there was only one waitress, there was the occasional wait for the to take our orders or plates to be cleared. The food was good, but not overly interesting: a salmon soufflé and... More

This lovely restaurant is very understated. All the courses were delicious and the service was quietly excellent. Thoroughly recommended. Best meal in Bordeaux.

This adorable place is on an ancient street packed with other restaurants. This is really a classy but causal place. We sat outside on a warm night and ate the mushrooms on pastry with tarragon sauce. The plate was clean when the Madame working the room took it away. Then the lamb Navarin couldn't have been better. The meat tender... More

This restaurant has a very traditional feel in character and food. Servings are generous across all courses. Madame attends to front of house and is quietly attentive and efficient as the sole server on a Thursday night with nearly all tables occupied. It's a small intimate place but spacious. Food is very good and it's a great place for conversation... More

On a four day trip to Bordeaux we chose this restaurant from the Trip Advisor list as our choice for our last night celebration, having visited other less rated restaurants the previous nights! Arriving at 19.30 as per our reservation we were unsure whether or not the restaurant was actually opened. We were the first customers of the evening and... More

Following the advice of others we booked our table in advance. Warm welcome from the Patronne set off our evening on the right track. Excellent advice on the choice of "plats" so we chose different options so that we could taste each both dish. South West dishes without the DUCK made for a different eating experience. Right in the middle... More
