Small but perfectly formed

This small high-level restaurant is located in the heart of the city. It has only a few table, soft light and very peaceful, being not recommended for noisy people and large group. I recommend you to let you taste guided through the 6 courses suggested menu. You will have a wonderful escalation of tastes, from fish to cheese. Everything is... More

Excellent food in a warm ambience .The owner is the one who takes orders, so she is extremely polite and helpful, keeping an eye to our need all the time. Food is fabulous though it is an expensive restaurant , so be prepared to pay high.

We reserved two months in advance to make sure we could have a wonderfull evening here. The restaurant has got a one Michelin star so our expectations were quite high. The restaurant is very small and cosy. Only 22 people can be seated and the atmosphere is really nice and even romantic. We choose the 5 course dinner menu and... More

Came through personal recommendation. We were not disappointed. Original creations delighting both the eye and the palate. The wine selection is rather pricey & can easily more than double the cost of the meal. Not a criticism. Just an observation. I chose turbot as my main & my companion chose rabbit. We were both highly satisfied. I love sorbet but... More

We had an excellent meal tonight at Le Gavroche. Thanks to Tripadvisor for sending us here! Creative cuisine, large wine list, great service. The 12 (yes, 12!) course cheese plate was a great bonus to the delicious entrees and mains. The staff speak some English and are willing to help you out with anything. It is not a cheap restaurant... Nothing special, tastes that in my personal opinion didn't match, I wouldn't return and would certainly not recommend it. Service was good but I would rather visit au crocodile again than le gavroche.

And what a meal. Highlight of my two month stay in Strasbourg. We ate lunch at this jewel of a restaurant (small and elegant décor) located just a little off the island. I decided on the menu du jour and started with grilled filet de Lisette (mackerel) in a mousse of white beans and chorizo – so light! This was... More

Certainly a restaurant worthy of its recent acclaim. Small cozy space, but upmarket and inviting. Each of the options on the 4 course menu was excellent, with the octopus and chorizo started being a highlight, as was the duck (probably the best I have yet had in France). Wife of the chef did brilliant job hosting patrons, regularly checking in,... More

Modern French cuisine at a very high level. I would recommend Menus over a la carte choice as these are definately cheaper. Nice choice for an evening out in Strasbourg
