Memorable meal!!!

And what a meal. Highlight of my two month stay in Strasbourg. We ate lunch at this jewel of a restaurant (small and elegant décor) located just a little off the island. I decided on the menu du jour and started with grilled filet de Lisette (mackerel) in a mousse of white beans and chorizo – so... read more

Nothing special, tastes that in my personal opinion didn't match, I wouldn't return and would certainly not recommend it. Service was good but I would rather visit au crocodile again than le gavroche.

Certainly a restaurant worthy of its recent acclaim. Small cozy space, but upmarket and inviting. Each of the options on the 4 course menu was excellent, with the octopus and chorizo started being a highlight, as was the duck (probably the best I have yet had in France). Wife of the chef did brilliant job hosting patrons, regularly checking in,... More

Modern French cuisine at a very high level. I would recommend Menus over a la carte choice as these are definately cheaper. Nice choice for an evening out in Strasbourg

Well, not a lot to say here. Made a reservation (from London) as we were due to travel to Strasbourg in December. Having looked at some local restaurants I decided we would go to Le Gavroche. I made a reservation for 7pm, although by the time the date arrived (some 2 months later), in my mind it was 7:30. It... More

I followed TA suggestion, and I was definitively rewarded. I found this place to be better than the very good La Vignette, even if I rated both at 5 stars (the Vignette for its price/quality ratio). Located very close to the main centre area of Strasbourg, very unimposing from the outside (it is obvious that the management counts on word... More

Restaurant : Le Gavrouche Ambience : From outside hidden in a dark alley, it doesnt look like anything like the high class restaurant that it really is. Inside, it was warm and cosy with nice warm overtones. Service : Professional, knowledgeable and non-intrusive. Food : We had the tasting menu of scallops and salmin risotto. We also had ala carte... Having dinner at the Gavroche was a nice experience with tasty food - overall really good value for money (the three course menu costs 58 Euros). The restaurant is quite small and you need to reserve a table. Beware that you do not turn up late: people who had reserved were turned away because they showed up half an hour... More

The restaurant is very unpretentious from the outside intact nothing gives it away as elegant and stylish and its a nice surprise once you're through the door. The food is excellent . The amuse bouche of textures of beetroot and goats cheese was delicious and I'm not even a beetroot or goat cheese fan.

We were excited at the prospect of trying this highly rated Michelin star restaurant in the back streets of strasbourg, upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner who gave us a choice of seats. We were brought an amuse bouche of beetroot jelly & mouse with a goats cheese mouse, delicious with very subtle well balanced flavours. For starters... More
