I love the Tartine at Epicerie. Cheap and tasty food, close to teh center of strasbourg, without all the tourist. Nice, yound staff. Always worth to stop by.
A nice place to get warm or hangout with friends. Friendly staff, young customers. Nice old style decoration. Reasonably priced.
We were here for my friend's birthday celebration. It wasn't as nice as I thought it would be. Maybe because I'm Asian and unappreciative of the food. To me, it was like just bread with toppings. I like the beer we ordered though. On hindsight, I might give it a miss if I could choose again.
We found L'Epicerie by accident. We were looking for a cozy place near our hotel and bumped into this small, quaint restaurant. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our total bill was around 50 Euros and the bill included alcohol. L'Epicerie reminds me of a college hangout with the decor and clientele to match. It's worth the time... More
Nice place in a quiet street, right in the heart of Strasbourg. Original concept. Nicely decorated. Friendly service. The food is perfect for a simple, hearty lunch. Great place!!!
The idea is very simple: bread with a selection of toppings. The results, however, are not simple at all. It is clear someone took time to design the menu. We would strongly recommend the cheese with "plugs", the Brie and the roast beef. Apart from that, the atmosphere is nice, it is a nice place to seat in and enjoy... More
A beautiful evening with excellent service, food and drink. By 8.30pm the place was full inside and outside. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff, who spoke perfect English. We agree with other comments about the salad. The cold or hot sandwiches are excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant or is it a café?
Ate here as we'd had a good lunch earlier and wanted to contrast it with the Michelin places we were going to be trying later in our trip - loved this place just as much albeit in a different way. The food is simple, which is to this places credit, tartines, lovely open topped sandwiches or posh cheese on toast.... More
Very cute place. If you sit outside, you are in the middle of a nice, narrow street. If you sit inside you will be in the middle of a perfect vintage atmosphere with enjoyable french music. The food is nothing extremely fancy, but really good. They have a lot of bread with toppings on top (delicious french cheese, for example)... More
L'Epicerie is a great café/restaurant in the heart of Strasbourg. The interior is unique and inspired by times gone by; 50's tin cans, post-war magazine-ads in the restrooms and a proper "epicerie"-counter. Here you will be seated along large tables together with other guests, which gives you that nice communal feeling. Or have a bite to eat by the old... More
