Brilliant atmosphere

We spent our last evening in Strasbourg in this restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and we had a good evening. There were generous portions of food which was not exceptional but typical of the region. We enjoyed our time here

1. Ambience. Attractive outdoor seating but also charming Alsatian interior in what is clearly a very old building. 2. Service. Prompt and friendly. 3. Food. Excellent. We had the kidneys in a cream sauce and a steak poivre, both a pointe. Generous helpings. 4. Value. For Strasbourg, very reasonable. I really can't think of a single thing to dislike, and... More

My company although based in La Wantzenau arranged a company dinner for 25 staff on my last visit. The location in the centre of Strasbourg offer the opportunity to wander around-historical Strasboug to build an appetite before sitting down to some local hearty fare. Our booking at 8pm which seems the usual time for locals to dine was already busy... More

This place is good. That is all you need to know, it's a bit out of the center of the city, maybe a little less than a 5 minute walk from Place Austerlitz. I have had the magret de canard (~16€) and the cordon bleu ('à la crème' is yummy (18.50€), but with 'nature' you get a bit of salad... More

We found the restaurant by chance at 11 pm (walking in the neighborhood) and the Trip Advisor excellence sticker draw our attention. When we entered, the waiter told us that the kitchen was closed. The next day we came back without reservation. We had to wait 10 minutes but (finally!) had a table near the kitchen. We ordered the boar... More

Two friends brought me to this restaurant to try some Alsatian food and I was amazed of the quality and taste of the food! I had the cordon bleu à la crème. Tender, perfectly cooked and with filing side dishes on the side : red choucroute, spetzel, mashed potatoes and fries. Do not forget to have authentic Alsatian White wine... More

We came across this gem of a restaurant quite by chance and were lucky to get a table, it was very busy and mostly with locals (always a good sign). The food was sublime, the staff were very welcoming and we enjoyed the setting - traditional yet tasteful. Highly recommended, we'll be back on our next visit to this beautiful... More

We stopped here for lunch. The food was beautifully cooked and served by friendly efficient staff. We ate outside on the terrace which was delightful. Most of the other clients around us seemed to be locals, well known to the staff. Good value food with good portions.

Found this by chance and am surprised and pleased that it ranks so highly, currently 36th out of 810 restaurants in Strasbourg. It's in a fairly out of the way location but not too far from the historic centre. The actual setting is lovely, on one side of a sort of square/crossroads. It was a lovely summer evening so we... This restaurant was recommended by our hotel (Hotel de L'ill) and it didn't disappoint. It was very crowded outside, so we had to sit inside- which was fine. The food was regional cuisine and it was so good. Try the orange chicken!
