During our visit to Strasbourg, we strolled behind the Strasburg Cathedral and came across a quiet courtyard that was lined with a few outdoor restaurants. We chose La Table du Gayot because it had a TripAdvisor sign on its billboard. What a find! Quiet, slow but efficient service (a real French-paced lunch) and a diverse menu. Our party of four... Wow! This really was French food at its best. Difficult to fault this place from food to ambience to service. Wonderful Salade Gourmande followed by fantastic Fillet de Boeuf au Sauce Pinot Noir and finally sublime Gateaux aux Noix - heavenly! The chef/owner clearly takes great pride in his restaurant.

Whilst sight seeing in Strasbourg came across this small square that was full of bars and restaurants and it was a hive of activity. We picked this restaurant due to the food on the menu appealed to us as a family. I would recommend going to the bars near by for a drink as the restaurant doesn't start serving food... More

Great quiet location. Great food. Not expensive. service is just the way i like, can sit there as long as you want. The meal is not rushed. They are always fully booked and don't care to turn the table over. They are quite happy with one seating and it makes the dining experience very enjoyable if you are lucky enough... More

I haven't had much luck with French restaurants but read the positive reviews and my wife and I decided we would give the Gayot a go. We are glad we did. Our waiter spoke English well and wasn't pretentious. He took the time to explain the menu and we allowed him the liberty to order us something that represented the... More

Really there are plenty of better restaurants in Strasbourg so miss this one. Our meal was ordinary. My duck was lovely but the vegetables had been prepared hours before. My partner's dish was according to our waiter "the only thing we buy in and we are also very unhappy with the quality". Enough said!

We ate here following the good reviews on tripadvisor. As others have said, the food is very good and the portions are very, very generous. We both managed a main and dessert but only just! The food was tasty and well cooked (lovely rested and pink duck) but to be honest it didn't strike me as anything special or particularly... More

My colleagues and I were enjoy the beautiful sights in Strasbourg, there were many nice cafes on the street as one would imagine in France, however none of them had that little extra we were looking for...then we found "La Table Du Gayot". We each had one of their signature duck dishes...the presentation was superb along with mouth watering cuisine...a... More

Very tasty! Not so big menu but everything we took was fantastic. And also served very quickly (notably that there is only one cook) My praises ))

We had dinner here on Saturday night. It was cold out so the patio was not an option. This place is really small so you should definitely make a reservation first! The service was excellent! Our waiter spoke English, even though we attempted to speak French. He recommended a great bottle of wine. The portions were very generous. The menu... More
