Excellent place and food

We had a great dinner trying differed dishes. Quality excellent and huge quantities (but we banged, it was so good). Warm welcome and very nice service by the staff. We followed the reviews on trip advisor and we did it right! Recommended.

The owner went out of her way to accommodate our party of 5 which turned into 7 at the last minute. She graciously added a table, and made sure we felt welcome. The food is extraordinarily good, authentic and homemade. I had the chicken and veal in puff pastry with spatzle. I rarely finish my entire meal since my appetite... More

This restaurant is beautiful - wood panelled and painted, with leaded windows, a beamed ceiling and dried hops and other herbs suspended as decor. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming. And the food is tremendous. Over the course of several meals, we tried the chicken in riesling, the knuckle of pork, the choucroute garnie and the beef salad - all... More

I highly recommend this place. The interior is something special. It's touristy but locals go here as well - there was a table of diplomatic/lawyer types from (I think) the European court of justice eating there. However, there is no need to feed one man so much boiled meats on top of sauerkraut! I ordered the escargots appetizer because --... More

We came here by invitation of a friend in Strasbourg. It is wonderful old world charm and decorations, truly Alsacian. The menu was in 3 languages which really helped and the owner herself tended to us. We arrived right when it opened, but it quickly filled, reservations are recommended. We ordered 3 different dishes and all were wonderful, very big... More

Though it doesn't look special from the outside, its interior is all wood and has an appealing Hansel and Gretel look. I had a quite good whole foie gras with apples and a rich, meaty gravy, paired with an Alsace wine. Though the owner-server was not too warm, this is a good restaurant and tourists will have a good experience... More

My husband and I ate here last weekend when visiting Strasbourg. The portions are huge, the atmosphere is very cozy and cute, the staff is very friendly and everything was delicious! We shared multiple dishes since we read about the large portions in advance and LOVED doing it this way. The chicken in cream with mushrooms was served in a... More

We had dinner on the 31st of December, fixed menu at a considerable price, but worth while. As I don't eat fish, I got a replacing dish which made people look envious! It's local cuisine, a little heavy, but if you like this stuff, go there!! The owner is nice, the rest of the staff could do with some training.... More

My wife & I ate here, and were not prepared for the oil rich Alsatian food. Huge portion of chicken in cream and white wine. Both had tummy trouble afterwards. Knock out.

My family and I were very impressed with the food we were served. The ribs were the best we had ever had; better than Kansas City. The salmon was also excellent. The servings were large. Order less and share, or bring along a zip lock bag. The French don't typically send home leftovers.
