Two friends and I enjoyed a very pleasant and relaxing meal in this typical Alsatian restaurants. Alsatian food is not my favourite but it was quite good. The decor was very typical of the establishment and the service was excellent. The waitresses are dressed in the traditional alsatian costumes to add to the atmosphere.

A very nice and relaxing lunch

We arrived at Chez Hansi for lunch time, in a rainy Saturday, and we were lucky enough to catch the last table available. The restaurant is elegant, in old Alsatian style; personnel in traditional costumes, very nice and attentive ladies. The food was very good. I had a very nice coq au riesling... read more

We walked around and decided to come here just by the look of the front of the building. Very typical for Colmar. Inside, greeted by a woman full of smiles in a traditional costume, sat us down. Followed by a brief explanation of some of the local foods, we made our choice, me the Poached Chicken, my wife the Choucroute... More

We picked this place since it was supposed to be historical restaurant. The restaurant quickly filled up a little after 7pm. The waitresses all dressed in traditional costumes. Ours was warm and pleasant. The food was good but not spectacular. We also tried local reseilng wine which was very good.

The restaurant serves traditional style food in a very clean, uncluttered atmosphere. We had very good service but our waitress/owner?/ manager did not wear the traditional outfit as advertised. We started with store bought packaged pretzels. Ding number 1. We both ordered the onion soup with cheese croutons. It was very good, but not an onion in sight. My husband... More

It seemed a good place where to taste Alsatian cuisine, but as soon as we entered with our young baby boy (1 year old), we understood we weren't welcome: no children high chair, none asking for our orders, no service at all. Waiting for the waitress, we started feeding the baby, sited on a bench, crying because of the difficult... More

We had a delightful and delicious meal at Chef Hansi. I had searched for a restaurant that poached chicken in Riesling and I finally found it. Absolutely delicious dish. Very attractive decor and service was perfect. Just a joy to find.

If you would like to discover the alsatian specialities, this is an excellent place. The local dishes are in general heavy but not here. Women dressed with the alsatian costume are serving them and the famous artist Hansi is the main character of the place.

While visiting Colmar this last spring, we and another couple enjoyed meals at Chez Hansi a couple of times. The staff was very friendly and even found us a table on our first night without a booking when they were very full. All others were turned away after we were seated, but we never felt rushed all evening. The staff... More

Very good lunchtime choice for an authentic Choucroute d 'Alsacienne. We had the fixed menu at 22 euros. For starter I had quiche Loraine with salad which was delicious. My husband had the mixed local cold meats. We both had the Choucroute for main and enjoyed it immensely, a bit too much for me to manage really. We both chose... More

We ate at Chez Hansi two of the three nights we spent in Colmar, and we strongly recommend it. The food, classic Alsatian, was prepared to order, and it was delicious. The choucroute was ample but not overwhelming, and the poached chicken with a reisling-cream sauce served with spaetzle was outstanding. Our meals were reasonably priced, and service was top...
