Excellent food, less than Michelin star service

My wife and I each ordered the full tasting menu. The overall quality and flavor was excellent. The pleasant and personable "wine waiter " suggested a nice but expensive red but it was not well matched to the overall assortment of foods. A true wine pairing would have been preferable given the... read more

I want to back to Colmar again just to go to the beautiful restuarant. Impeccable service, exceptional food and amazing wine.

We went back to this restaurant a second time during our short stay in Colmar. The menu is derived from local ingredients, the service is friendly and understated, the interior is very beautiful without pretention. The food is contemporary and innovative, all the while seeming not contrived and "natural" (a combination of octopus and veal, perfectly prepared and perfectly fresh,... More

We were visiting Alsace and chose L'Atelier du Peintre because of the reviews we have seen in Tripadvisor. We had the menu degustation, and it was amaizing! The servisse is also very friendly.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at L'Atelier du Peintre. The booking tool of Trip Advisor was working perfect!! Even though we only made a reservation 2 hours prior to 19 hrs. Tip for aperitif in case you reach before opening hour... The bar next door offers great wine ;)!

This restaurant is very popular and you will need a reservation to get a table on busy nights. I had foie gras starter and the goose with fries. Starter was excellent but side fries were a let down. Partner had a fish main course with risotto and asparagus which was excellent. Mains were huge, didn't make it to desert. Good... More

We've visited L'Atalier du Peintre 8 times during the last years. Every time we are in Alsace, we need at least one visit to this lovely place. The food is outstanding, the surroundings are really beautiful, the comfort in the restaurant is excellent, and the price level is surprisingly low. We certainly will continue to visit whenever possible, cause this... More

I spent a night there with my wife. Very professional people and the food quality was very good. I have to thank the man who suggested me the Alsace Muscat, a wine I always avoided. It has been a very nice suprise.

This was a great surprise in Colmar. We were welcomed to our table and served with a triple amuse bouche, and properly advised to choose from the rich wine list. We wanted two different set menus, which was possible (in many restaurants it is not: set menus are for the whole table) and because one menu had more dishes we... More

Restaurant : Atelier du Pleintre. A 1* restaurant hiding in Colmar. Ambience : Small little restaurant. Bright, modern and cheerful decor with white starched table setting. Service : Prompt, professional and non-intrusive. Very attentive. Food : We ordered 1) Grilled scallops was alright but didnt go w the sweet potato puree. 2) Calamari seafood platter was a good balance of... More
