An excellent restaurant hidden up a side street

Have dined here many times and the standard of Alsace food remains high. Some folks appear to have service problems here, but you must remember that the locals take all night over a good meal. So leave plenty time for the experience. Have yet to find any surly staff here, they are all very... read more

I just came across this restaurant by sheer luck while on the way to Petite Venise. Had an amazing tarte flambee and the best creme brulee ever...served with a scoop of delicious icecream. Very friendly staff. Please note this place is very popular...tried to go back again twice but it was "complet" (full) so make reservations in advance.

We turned up without a booking on a Tuesday night, having found that many other restaurants were already booked out. However the staff here were able to fit us in. The setting was warm and welcoming and the service was generally good, bearing in mind how busy the staff were. We had good, warming food and a very decent evening.... More

Maison Rouge restaurant Colmar, Alsace After one of those splendid Alsatian breakfasts that we were having At Chateau d'Isenbourg, our Hotel in Rauffach, Alsace, we were off to our "touristing" visit over those beautiful villages nearby We planned to visit; Ribeauville, Riquewhir, Eguisheim and Colmar. My wife and I visit the first two, 7 years back, in our previous trip... More

A couple of blocks away from the crowded touristique places, you will find this cosy and busy "family restaurant". A ham roasting on a spit was the first thing we saw when entering and it turned out that this was the special for the day. My husband tried it served with some vegetables, roasted potatoes and local cheeses and it... More

Lovely meal. Delicious. Well served. Great evening. They had a ham roasting on a spit as we walked in ---- it smelled wonderful. We knew at that point we had made a good choice.

when we arrived, told by the head waitress that there were no tables, despite us noticing one so she sat us on it. Big wait for menus, had to ask for them, the male waiter was great and the food was very nice but the waitress gave us our bill without comment and was quite resentful . Needless to say... More

We tried to dine here on a Saturday night based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp, but were turned away because they were booked. We found this to be the case with most of the better restaurants in Old Town Colmar. So be smarter than we were and make a reservation. Unfortunately for us they won't be... More

Local cuisine, mediocre service, if you like the local food, slabs of meat, cabbage, no seasonings or flavors, you will love this place.

We arrived at noon for lunch knowing we needed to be somewhere 5 minutes away for a tour at 1:30 and got worried we might not make it. It took close to an hour to place our order and finally get our food. The food was okay - not great - but certainly good except that by the time we... More
