One of us cannot have cream or butter, a difficulty in France, where so much of French Food uses these two ingredients. The cook came out to consult with us directly, and what was prepared was inspired. The cook regarded our difficulty as a challenge rather than a chore.

Lovely small restaurant that specializes in fresh food and the food was excellent. We enjoyed our Saturday night dinner there under the outside awing and complete with live music. We had bumped into one of the owners earlier the day before and booked a reservation based on our conversation with him. The restaurant has a young and energetic feel while... More

This place doesn't look like much on the outside, but after making your way back through the corridor you will be surprised by a beautiful restaurant and garden area. The owner of the restaurant serves there and was more than accommodating (he allowed us to change our reservation the day of and even let us come in ahead of time... More

Found this restaurant quite by chance...what a great find :) The interior is small, but there is also a covered courtyard at the back. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious. Less choice towards the end of lunch. Go early. Good prices. Server was very pleasant. Pace of serving was quite slow - but French! It allows for enjoyment... More

It was a wet public holiday with no meseums open so as the clock chimed 12 it was time for both shelter and lunch. In these circumstances l'Arpege had the advantage of being able to look at the exterior menu under cover in the passage way leading to the restaurant, and I did not want "traditional" Alsacian food. However, it... More

On a week trip to Paris and the Alsace, this was the most enjoyable and delicious meal. Tucked away off the street, friendly and attentive service, inspired and tasty Menu du Jour. Delicious local wines. And extremely reasonably priced compared to other Colmar eateries. Honestly I wish I found this place on the first and not last day in Colmar!!

I've been to the Restaurant L'Arpege after a long walk around the city in a beautiful sunny evening. We actually run into the restaurant by chance since it is kind of secluded in a small court. The goat cheese we had among the others on our appetisers plate was outstanding. Main courses were also very good. Simple and good. A... More

I visited this restaurant a few months ago on a beautiful sunny day. We ate on the quaint patio and the meal was lovely. We returned last week and wanted to try a different restaurant but they were full. However, sometimes things happen for a reason. I really enjoyed the first meal I tried there but this time it was... Unbelievably charming little place which sets itself apart from the more traditional Alsatian-style places but still keeps true to authentic French, seasonal food. This is not the place to go for gigantic portions at cheap prices: I am sure L'Arpege will be steep for some, but I would say this is a case of "you get what you pay for,"... More

What a treat, and considerably better than the Michelin one-star where we ate for dinner. It's a comfortable restaurant with unpretentious service. Everything was fresh and well made, down to the potatoes that came with the faux fillet.
