Very nice atmosphere, however the service could be much politer and the food is not really what I expected. The salad was not fresh at all, actually it looked ugly. Other dishes looked quite ok, but the place is so busy, there is no love for details anymore, no personal service, it is more like at... read more

We became quasi-regulars at the Brasserie Schwendi on the Grand Rue during our stay in Colmar - one of the house specialties is Roestli - shredded potatoes served with cream, cheese, onions, and bacon (or other fixings). It paired extraordinarily well with an amber ale and a cool evening in April!! When we were there their were numerous families with... More

I found this place recommended in the Rick Steves France guidebook. It is located in the old town of Colmar and offers both inside and outside dining. I had a green salad and my entree was a large skillet of Rosti, which is something of a house specialty, along with a large beer and my bill was around 16 Euros.... More

After a short trip from Lyon to Colmar, we checked into the Hotel St. Martin and found we were just across the square from the delightful Schwendi's. We became fans of the special thin crust pizzas called flambés, an excellent value when you aren't ready for a full meal. Two can easily share one of the flambés, that range mostly... More

This bar/restaurant is a bit rough around the edges, with curt service and a somewhat rowdy crowd. That said, the food we had there was excellent: I had a pretty decadent roesti which is basically a grated potato dish topped with cream, cheese, and a variety of other toppings you can choose. My husband had the charcroute garnie, and was... More

Many dishes based around local Rosti (fried, grated potato) which were very filling and great value. Not a gourmet experience but excellent for its location in the centre of the city. Prompt and very friendly service.

We stopped here for lunch and shared one of their tartifllet dishes and some frites. The food was excellent and great value for money in a really central location. At lunch it's a fairly fast turnaround but it's everything you need for the money and location.

We chose the restaurant for its location opposite our hotel. As we were all tired, we decided to give it a go despite reading some very negative reviews. We found the waiters to be friendly and the service prompt. The food was tasty and good value. Particularly enjoyed the roesti. The restaurant surpassed expectations for one in a main tourist... We went there on a sunday as it was the only Restaurant where we could eat at 6pm. The food quality was poor (convenience!) and very expensive. Service was ok. We left most of the food because it was horrible. We wouldn't go there again!
