We regularly go to Colmar to enjoy some Alsacien atmosphere and eat "Flammkuche". Once in a while, we go to Schwendi, because we were always happy. This time, we sat outside and ordered two different Flammkuche (Schwendi and Munster) and some red wine. The wine was nice, good for the price. We didn't order any of the grand Crus, so... More

Colmar has lost all it's glory.... On Monday's and even Sundays good Alsacien restaurants are closed. We escaped to this Winstub. Not a good choice... Low quality Alsace wines, rostie-dishes very greasy, choucroute expensive and have had much better ones.

This Winstub was directly across sthe street form our hotel and we ate there twice. Food was just OK, but some of their wines were among the best we had on the trip - Grand Cru's at very fair prices. The terrace was a pleasant spot to sit and watch the world go by (including the "parade" following a World... More

Try to avoid this place!!! The food is just terrible!!! P there were four of us trying different things and none of us liked his meal. I tried salald with tuna, which was not bad but because of the sauce I couldn't finish it. It seemed they put the same disguisting sauce on everything. And finally the service... When we... More

Hard to have a bad meal in France but this place pulled it off. I had the chicken that was dry and rubbery with over cooked beans and cooked-a-few-hours ago potatoes. My friend had an insipid charcroute Bad and slow service to match

We ate and drank at Schwendi a couple of times while in Colmar. They have a comprehensive menu, including the local specialities. The staff are friendly and speak English. It is also a good spot to sit and watch the world go by over a cold beer.

My wife and I were staying at the Hotel St Martin just across the pedestrian street from this restaurant. This place came recommended both from the hotel staff and a relative who was there a few years before. A very good place to eat in the Petite Venice area of Colmar. Busy, lively place with many locals as well as... More

Away on business alone in Colmar and walked the streets late one Monday evening so the town was fairly quiet and most of the restaurants were empty as a rule, when alone, try to eat at a busy place normally gives a good impression of the restaurant if its busy!! There was a good number of people inside and had... More

Colmar has no shortage of amazing restaurants, so its kind of funny that we come here so often. The main reason we do frequent Schwendi is that most restaurants on the square don't open for dinner until 7, while this place is generally open all day, making it a convenient choice when visiting with kids. The food is decent, not... More
