good food, great beer

Reasonably priced food - a big meal (burger probably or traditional pub grub) costs about a tenner. There is a nice range of beers - not huge but definitely plentiful. we poppped in for a Sunday roast: a choice of lamb or beef: both were very good. The standard of the food was excellent and the portions generous. There is a large selection of beer and craft beers. The ones we tried were both fine. The place was reasonably full and there was a good atmosphere: it looks like a... More

I went to the Knott for dinner the other night. I haven't been for a long time. Not because I disliked the place, but because I have been away a lot for the past few months. It was he ideal place to choose for a "pub meal". Firstly I found out that they were "running low" on beer when what... More

We decided to visit Knott bar after great reviews but was met by the worst bar staff ever I asked for a IPA and he looked at me like i had 3 heads and with a chip On his shoulder said "which one we have loads in here" I pointed out the one i wanted and his reply was "well... More

I've been to Knott bar several times now and it never disappoints! The staff are lovely, the drinks are reasonable and the food even better! We went just yesterday to try the Sunday pub quiz and I think I know what I'll be doing every Sunday from now on!

We had never visited here before but had a nice couple of pints on a busy Bank holiday Sunday. We had to wait a while to be served at the bar but the beers were great. The food looked good too. My only negative comment is that the bar could do with a bit of spring clean but I suppose... More

Went in here this week for the first time in maybe a decade, and although I was sad to see that the bar billiards table has gone, the range of beers is still brilliant. It's one of those bars that isn't especially comfortable or trendy or historic or anything but it is uniquely, quirkily itself and go bless it for... More

Been there for lunch, food is average quality, the atmosphere is nothing special, toilet should be improved. Nothing special that worth the visit neither a place to avoid.

used to really like it in here, but its getting too expensive, had a recent trip for Sunday lunch to find a lady working on the bar who barely smiles and seems to get frustrated if you spend more than a few seconds deciding what you would like(from the large range of drinks on offer). i felt like saying "what... We were a large group out celebrating a 40th birthday. We had drinks and food and enjoyed the lively atmosphere which was impressive considering it was a very cold Saturday night in January. The staff were friendly. Mostly the food came out quickly without problems which was impressive given it was pub food rather than a sit down restaurant and... More
