I am a regular at gaucho and would have thought I was a valued customer. But I felt no such way on Saturday evening when I walked out! My friend had booked a table under the name Rowan Ashworth for 9:00pm We turned up at 8:45pm, checked in and waited till 10:10 and we were still not seated! I was... More

Table booked for 9.30pm in private dining. Arrived at 9.15. Decided to have a drink at the bar as the place was clearly over booked, and we could tell this wasn't going to be a 9.30 start. Utter chaos everywhere. The bar area was a disgrace. 2 bar staff no where near enough. Felt sorry for them. Glasses piled up... More

We arrived 15 minutes before our table reservation and were greeted by a less than cheerful front of house lady. We were stood for 2 minutes in silence as she spoke to other members of staff before a waitress led us to our table. From what i could gather the place had a cloak room but nobody bothered to tell... You come here for one reason, the steaks. The building is an old church. The organs pipes and organ as still on display. The original buildings architecture is really nice to see. The rest of the decor is in likeness to all the Gaucho's, some like it. But to the food. Between us we had the fillet, rump, and the... More

Arrived on a Saturday night for a 945pm booking and the place was clearly overbooked - agreed to have a drink at the bar - cost £20 - doubles mandatory - someone in front of us who had an 8pm booking was still waiting for a table at 10pm - Manager blamed Head Office but I booked via the local... Booked table for 8.15. Explained it was father-in-law's birthday. Had 45 minutes of listening to bland lounge music in the bar. Finally seated at 9pm under a heater. Asked waitress if it could be turned off. She disappeared for 15 minutes then explained the meat cuts and said she'd not spoken to her manager about the heater. Under staffed, staff... More

Cow hides hanging on the walls and on chairs, wow! Is that supposed to be cool!? Just looks dated and tacky. Showing us the raw meat board! Does anyone think looking at raw meat is appealing! Very expensive for what it is, I mean how much skill does it take to cook a steak! And selling me a thimble full... More

Visiting this beautiful restaurant last night as mid week date night, we both absolutely loved our evening from the minute we entered to the moment we left. I have been to Gaucho once previously and from that day I couldn't wait to return. The service from every single waiter/waitress, bar staff, host/hostess was second to non, nothing was too much... We had the private dining room, service was great but perhaps a little slower as we were out of the way. Steaks were fab but as they keep the restaurant so cool (same as london) my blue steak was very cold by the time I finished. If you want blue I'd advise going for the sirloin instead of the fillet...
