Description: Manchester might be awash with slick dining outfits but none quite like Ning. Unlike many others, Ning values subtlety and sophistication both in its style and its cuisine. Influenced by the noodle bars of Asia’s cities, this Northern Quarter venue offers a bustling ambience somewhere between trendy canteen and chichi bistro. With polished wood tables, voguish floral patterned wallpaper and candlelit tables, the interior strikes a similar balance of fashionable buzz meets classy intimacy. The South East Asian fusion menu offers mainly Thai and Malay dishes made with fresh ingredients, free from MSG. Ning’s chefs pride themselves on producing a concise menu of carefully selected and well cooked dishes.

The food is authentic and beautifully cooked, but the surroundings could do with a refurb. The staff are very friendly and efficient and if you just want excellent food this is the place to go, but if you want an atmospheric experience this is probably not the place for you. There are some good set menu deals which are worth... More

Interesting and very tasty food in a lively warm atmosphere. The Nonya lime curry was particularly good. But then we were told that our (cold) desserts would take 30 minutes to arrive. Was that so that they could get the table back, or to get us to order more drink? The latter, it seems. When our bill came, a pricey... More

Been ning a fewer times over the past 2 years, went this week last minute. Its located on the far side of Manchester which to fair is not the best looking area, however the restaurant stands out as well looked after. The food is fresh and tasty, staff were very friendly, there was a young lad who was very helpful.... More

I was put onto Ning thanks to a recommendation from a friend and I'm pleased I was. The food is incredible. Beautifully cooked, authentic and bursting with flavour. I really couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant had a very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the Northern Quarter and after some SE Asian... More

This was a birthday meal for 12 people. We had booked for 7.30 but on entering we were told that our time had changed to 8.15. This was a ruse by the staff to have more time to clear a table from a party which had overstayed their allotted time. There is no place to wait at all and all... More

What a great place. Didn't know what to expect as we just fancied noodles but were in the northern quarter so it was this or the usual wagamamas. It far exceeded our expectations. The staff were brilliant, really attentive and friendly but left you to it. The young lad serving us was particularly good. I had chicken satay starter and... More

Went here on Friday for a friends birthday. The lentil fritters were far to dry not good. The main speciality Malaysian food was nice. I had this non alcholic rose drink which tasted of Turkish delight so lovely.

We went here at the recommendation of a friend prior to a theatre trip. The food was stunning, especially a wonderful chicken and basil dish that was full of flavour. really worth going and then going back!

Went to Ning's with my family and it was very good. The Roti Canai starter was amazing. For main I had the Ayam Percik. Beaitfully cooked chicken breast (not dry at all). The best part though was the service. The waiter was knowledgeable about the dishes and was very friendly throughout. Would recommended to anyone.
