Description: Manchester might be awash with slick dining outfits but none quite like Ning. Unlike many others, Ning values subtlety and sophistication both in its style and its cuisine. Influenced by the noodle bars of Asia’s cities, this Northern Quarter venue offers a bustling ambience somewhere between trendy canteen and chichi bistro. With polished wood tables, voguish floral patterned wallpaper and candlelit tables, the interior strikes a similar balance of fashionable buzz meets classy intimacy. The South East Asian fusion menu offers mainly Thai and Malay dishes made with fresh ingredients, free from MSG. Ning’s chefs pride themselves on producing a concise menu of carefully selected and well cooked dishes.

I've been having dinner at Ning Restaurant few times and it has never dissappointed me at all. They cooked a very authentic asian food. With lot of spices mixed together with the right proportion, you can say the taste is not just delicious but also beautiful. The ingredients are fresh you can even notice that in the very first bite.... More

We ate here last Saturday night. It is essential to book or you won't get a table. The staff are very polite and welcoming and showed the four of us to our table immediately.. There was about four inches between our table and the one on the right.and the table on the left although at a right angle to us... More

Booked a week in advance... arrived a little early & given the worst table in the place. No intimacy at all. Picked from a special menu and tried to order... oh, that's off for December...'maybe we should make it clearer'...yes you should! Picked some crackers with the starters..'there off'... 'waiting for the oil to heat!' Was comped some crackers eventually... More

I am very sorry to learn of your disappointing experience, which fell short of our usual standards. I have discussed this with our team. Quality of food and service is paramount to us, yet we do not proclaim to be perfect on every count, especially at this exceptionally busy pre-Christmas time when we are very popular. The 2 Course special... More

Disappointed in the food, our order was lost, I suspect because we'd been erroneously offered the 2 course deal-in the process of a slightly public reprimand the order went astray. The lentil pattes were bland, and the lime curry/massaman identical in colour, content- and almost in taste. Best bit was the gado gado but it would have been criminal for... More

Mediocre starter of fishcakes was made up for by very enjoyable main course - chicken in spicy coconut sauce. Unfortunately, waiting nearly an hour for this after the starter was a bit more than I thought reasonable.

We recently booked a table on this restaurant for our second wedding anniversary, which was also the first time ever we were going out without our daughter since she was born, so it was a very special night for us ....... We called with two weeks of anticipation to book the table and we explained the situation... We asked if... More

I am terribly sorry to hear of your immense disappointment. I do however believe that you originally emailed us with your concerns to which we replied both initially and with a detailed response, including an offer of compensation, which you do not mention. On the evening itself it was around the time that we had experienced a signifcant and sudden... More

The food is authentic and beautifully cooked, but the surroundings could do with a refurb. The staff are very friendly and efficient and if you just want excellent food this is the place to go, but if you want an atmospheric experience this is probably not the place for you. There are some good set menu deals which are worth... More

Interesting and very tasty food in a lively warm atmosphere. The Nonya lime curry was particularly good. But then we were told that our (cold) desserts would take 30 minutes to arrive. Was that so that they could get the table back, or to get us to order more drink? The latter, it seems. When our bill came, a pricey... More

Been ning a fewer times over the past 2 years, went this week last minute. Its located on the far side of Manchester which to fair is not the best looking area, however the restaurant stands out as well looked after. The food is fresh and tasty, staff were very friendly, there was a young lad who was very helpful.... More

I was put onto Ning thanks to a recommendation from a friend and I'm pleased I was. The food is incredible. Beautifully cooked, authentic and bursting with flavour. I really couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant had a very relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the Northern Quarter and after some SE Asian... More
