Manchester might be awash with slick dining outfits but none quite like Ning. Unlike many others, Ning values subtlety and sophistication both in its style and its cuisine. Influenced by the noodle bars of Asia’s cities, this Northern Quarter venue offers a bustling ambience somewhere between trendy canteen and chichi bistro. With polished wood tables, voguish floral patterned wallpaper and candlelit tables, the interior strikes a similar balance of fashionable buzz meets classy intimacy. The South East Asian fusion menu offers mainly Thai and Malay dishes made with fresh ingredients, free from MSG. Ning’s chefs pride themselves on producing a concise menu of carefully selected and well cooked dishes.

Disappointing

rose and lime sweet water was very interesting. for a Malaysian-Thai restaurant, the dishes were not too spicy at all. Beef Rendang and Green Curry were okay.

My favourite restaurant in Manchester. I've been eating here for some years now but, most recently, I took the team from work for a night out. Without exception, everyone loved their meal. The service is always perfect, the food even more so. If you're ever visiting Manchester, make sure you visit this place. I can't recommend it enough.

I recently had dinner on Friday night at Ning, the restaurant was buzzy and it made for a fun atmosphere. Food was SUPERB and beautifully presented and served piping hot too! Portion sizes are generous and came with lots of dipping sauces to go with each dish. The next day I attended a Malaysian cookery masterclass hosted by Celebrity Chef... More

The service was very informative ,and very friendly , food was excellent ,the only downside was the table we sat at had a curtain screen which when the door opened was very cold ,could do with a solid screen there otherwise it was excellent the atmosphere was great and we will defiantly return

We visited Ning on a Saturday evening, there were no free tables later than 6.30 so we knew it was going to be busy, but I was surprised that the majority of diners were in large groups, and this contributed to the noise level - this isn't a place for a quiet romantic meal, at least not on a Saturday... I lived very close to Ning and passed by it several times, however I haven't tried it until my last month before moving out of Manchester and now I wish I had tried it before! I went there with some colleagues from work as a goodbye meal and it was an excellent night! The food selection is wide and the... More

I've been here once before, and decided to go again and with another couple since we had originally rated it quite highly, our second visit however was sadly dissapointing. When we arrived we were welcomed quite warmly and asked to wait in a small waiting area, we were not offered any drinks while we waited, and I was surprised we... More

Have walked past so many times on my way to The Castle (amazing pub!) and always thought. Ning looked very inviting. Decor quite nice, service ok (more staff came in during our meal and things improved rapidly) - the real star of the show here is the food - soft shell crabs were out of this world as was the...
