Manchester might be awash with slick dining outfits but none quite like Ning. Unlike many others, Ning values subtlety and sophistication both in its style and its cuisine. Influenced by the noodle bars of Asia's cities, this Northern Quarter venue offers a bustling ambience somewhere between trendy canteen and chichi bistro. With polished wood tables, voguish floral patterned wallpaper and candlelit tables, the interior strikes a similar balance of fashionable buzz meets classy intimacy. Led by award-winning celebrity Malaysian chef Norman Musa, the predominately authentic Malaysian menu also offers Thai and fusion dishes, all made with fresh ingredients, free from MSG. Ning's chefs pride themselves on producing a concise menu of carefully selected and well cooked dishes, and service is attentive without being over-bearing. Malaysian hospitality and food.

This was our third visit to Ning and once again we were not disappointed. The food and service were faultless. The portions were just right and the cocktails were delicious. We will return.

Top class. Fantastic food and great service made this one of the top dining experiences I've had in Manchester. We had 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 puds between 4 adults and that was about right. Ask the waiter for recommendations especially if you're not used to Malaysian food but we enjoyed all the dishes we were recommended or chose... More

Not just Malayasian but best Asian food I've ever had. Go to Manchester for football and always meet friends and family here. Service is excellent too. Hard to make one recommendation off the menu. It's not in the best part of town but handy from the centre. My wife and I are now looking for excuses to go to Manchester... More

This was my first visit to the restaurant and myself and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and very authentic (as good as, if not better than, the food we had when we were in Indonesia). The stand out dish was the beef curry in dark soy sauce. The spicy peanut sauce that came with the starter... More

Ate here on the special 2 course meal which was very good. All the dishes, especially the chicken gulai, were great, apart from the calamari which was very chewy. For me, a restaurant is all about the food, but unfortunately on this occasion the atmosphere of the restaurant really detracted from the food and I just didn't enjoy my meal.... More

The food here is really different and really tasty. Nothing is too spicy, and the 2 course deal is more than enough for one person. The desserts were really nice and the the Tarik is recommended!!!

First time for Malaysian food and very pleased we choose Ning for the experience . Extremely helpful and friendly staff serving very tasty vegetarian options. My particular favourites were a range of starters which included spring rolls, street food and a flat bread with curry dip. Three lovely main courses all washed down with a fine and reasonable priced Shiraz... More

After living in Malaysia for many years we were excited when our son booked this for dinner. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the food could not be faulted. The rotis were so good that we ordered more at the end if our meal. Every dish was excellent and spicing was just right. Service was very good.... More

This Malaysian restaurant was recommended by my daughter and we were really pleased by the food and staff, who were very friendly. As it was Eid, they had a special menu for that as well as the A la carte, which had great choices. There were families and couples, so nice atmosphere. What drew us was the 40% discount on food...
