Had a lovely meal last night 2 pizzas, a bottle of (very nice) wine for £20. Staff were efficient if not erudite, lovely atmosphere and decor. Highly recommend.

The food was delicious and the service was great. Loved the steak and the peppercorn sauce. The only thing that would make it better is if they bought some canvas / other decorative items to reduce the level of airborne noise. It is quite a loud restaurant and the sound does bounce around a lot.

Went Saturday 27th. Starter of mussels was lovely, fried chicken nice too. Large portion sizes. Reasonable prices especially if you can take advantage of the offer. Service good.

The Velvet is one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester and certainly the best in the Gay Village. We visited on the Friday of the Kylie concert so Canal Street was very busy. The restaurant was nearly full by the service, as usual, was perfect. The bar upstairs is a great place for a pre-dinner drink, or even outside (like... More

A group of 8 so can be difficult for many restaurants but everything was served in a timely fashion. Service was exceptional and friendly and we were regularly checked for... More
