This was a birthday night out which was the perfect experience. We met for pre-dinner drinks at The Railway pub across the road and then had a splendid meal at The Lime Tree. I had oysters to start, fish cake as a starter and the trio of fish as a main.

I had 3 starters and was full, my husband had starter and main course, lots to eat and delicious. Interesting menu, difficult to choose what to have, but we loved what we did have. Staff knowledgeable and helpful, good atmosphere, easy to park car outside. We had a very pleasant evening

The food is good - well cooked, well executed dishes - but the dishes are too large for a fine dinning experience. Also there are too many ingredients on the plate so it's difficult for each to stand out. The menu is solid but could do with a refresh. Service OK, though I have no memory of it five days... More

I honestly believe this is easily the best restaurant in Didsbury. I would rather eat just a bowl of vegetables in this restaurant than 3 courses in many of the others. A simply fantastic chef, lovely decor and excellent FOH staff. Brilliant

9 of us visited for my sister-in-laws birthday. We could only get in at 9:00pm which was a little later than we would have liked but as we were going to the Metfor a drink first they offered to give us menus so that we could select our meals before we arrived to minimise the delay in getting our starters.... The Lime Tree is where we go for our special occasions -- either on our own or with friends -- to celebrate anniversaries, important birthdays, or just because we want a real treat. It never disappoints. The food is always amazing and the staff are brilliant. It has both a family feel to it, but is first-class all the way.... More

I was at the Rhône Food&Wine Dinner last night. The food was stunning from start to finish. The beef casserole ("daube") was as soft as butter. The tarte tatin was the best I ever had. And the wines were absolutely beautiful, especially the Châteauneuf du Pape Saint Roch with the beef. The owner, Patrick, is also a farmer, and this... More

Went here recently with family for a birthday for the first time. Btw parking is a nightmare especially when it's raining so we had a bit of a walk first off. The restaurant inside had two areas, one side was very much like a Sunday carvery-type restaurant whilst the other seemed to have a more upmarket feel. The starters were... More

what a wonderful restaurant the food was out of this world. The staff were great and made sure we was happy with our table. I would recommend this restaurant and every part of the evening was special and I felt like a princess
