Worth it just for the toffee sticky pudding!

When I moved to this area (about three years ago), Lime Tree was thought to have gone "downhill", not the restaurant you took to impress people, I went twice and felt "meh", the service was poor and the food lacklustre in comparison to the rose garden and Bstro 156. However, I was invited to... read more

I live this place. The food is always fresh and inventive whilst staying classic. The 2/3 course menu that is served before 6:30 is a brilliant offer and unlike other places who offer similar deals, you do not feel like you are being served a second rate meal because its an offer. Finally I love the choice offered on the... More

A special evening and a fab meal -It was busy but we didn't feel rushed, and there was a great atmosphere. The decorations were stylish there were some lovely flowers and lots of soft lighting and candles. The staff were lovely, efficient but not not overly fussing. We had the assiette of duck to start with which was gorgeous, followed... More

I visited this restaurant recently after myself and girlfriend had looked at the menu on-line. The menu looked great, as did the venue and it wasn't too far away, so we thought we'd give it a try. The first issue we experienced was that it is almost impossible to find a parking space anywhere near the restaurant. So we ended... More

My partner and I visited last month for dinner. The interior is a little odd, strange combinations of styles that didn’t really work together; cheap wicker lamp shade which I recognised from Ikea, 1980s art work on the walls, Laura Ashley chairs combined with a ‘feature wall’ of modern wallpaper and tables for 2 squashed together We did not order... An enjoyable experience. Warm welcome, meet, greet, seat, menus, water, bread - all the basics on arrival were there - sadly lacking in other institutions. Combination of 2 and three courses each - a la carte on Sunday lunch menu. Tasty, well cooked with a slight French influence. Wines a little pricey though possibly average for a relatively affluent area.... More

Visited last month with friends, it had been a while since I visited this restaurant, I used to love it. Nothing to put your finger on that was wrong, the scallops were large and properly cooked and my duck again was cooked correctly but the flavours were not there everything was slightly bland and a bit boring. Service was efficient... More

Staff know what they are doing (they are French). Taken to table, water brought right away, with menus and wine list . This does not happen in most restaurants

No complaints. Met at the door, led to our table straight away with menus and wine list. Knowledgable and experienced staff (all French it seemed). Quality food and wine for a reasonable bill. It isn't cheap but it isn't too expensive. You are getting what you pay for. 4 people, 2 bottles of wine, 2/3 courses each - £140.
