Wonderful but wasted on me

Can't fault this restaurant but a slight shame that I am a novice when it comes to appreciating sophisticated fine dining. Each meal was presented beautifully, the room was a joy to be just sat in. A wonderful experience.

Had the 10 course taster and the traditional cheese board after partner panicked and thought service would be over too soon. Enjoyed all courses apart from the pork which was very piggy but I am, be it not a fussy eater, not a great pork lover. Had the wine flight but disappointingly most white.

There is so much to enjoy and admire with Simon Rogan's food - looks fantastic and even when you think it might not work, the combinations surprise you. Great to see much of the staff were the same as our previous visit which also shows consistency. Shame that even on a Friday night, there were a few empty tables -... More

Excellent food and service, with staff and kitchen who are willing to indulge food fads and allergies.

We've given this 5 stars for the staff ... not the food. Well done Camilla and your team. Went to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and was pleasantly disappointed. It is not the cornucopia of culinary excellence we were expecting. The food did the waiting staff a disservice ... seriously! AMBIENCE The table furniture reminded me of a 1970's caravan... More

Recently visited the French with a group of friends. We had heard great things and the restaurant had come highly recommended. We had decided to go for the 6 course tasting menu at £65. I can only think that we were there on a bad day. We found a number of the courses over salted. The main had an accompaniment of... More

This is fine dining at its best. Myself and two life long friends enjoyed a memorable experience which was perfect in every way. Its expensive and we had the wines to match the food but every sip and mouthful scintillated the pallet! 6 courses plus the extra cheese course and you can choose the 10 course. The decor is simply... More

I don't think I need to go into too much detail but the whole experience was excellent, extravagant and ridiculously delicious. From the fantastic wine choices through to every bite put in front of me. I still dream about the ox tartare in coal oil. I wish I could eat like this every week. Superb service.....wow, just wow.

My Husband and I were there last Saturday, it's a great place to have a slow graze with some truly wonderful food, staff are very attentive, it's definitely worth the trip to Manchester for, only one comment is that a little back ground music would have been nice. Can feel just a bit too formal
