We are regulars in Harkers in Chester another Brunning & Price pub so while in Castlefield we called in. The architecture of the building, selection of beers and food was all uo to the high standards of Harkers. I had a beef and black pudding pie with Brightside brewery's Odin a very enjoyable lunch.

My partner and I came for an early Sunday lunch as I needed to catch a train, but it would appear that the earlier you get there the better as from 1pm the place gets very busy...with lots of children, so if you're looking for a quiet lunch, this might not be the best place. However the food and service... More

Myself and my partner live literally a stones throw from this pub so it is definite your local and our pick of places to go in the area. It's a great pub, large but still feels welcoming and friendly with lots of different areas to sit it. In the summer (or just when there is the slightest glimmer of sun... More

A Wednesday evening in the Wharf. Service by Alex was excellent. A wide range of beers and spirits kept our thirsts at bay. The 3 lamb shank which went down very well.. The Steak was slightly over cooked but I'm never going to hold that against anyone. A lively atmosphere was generated throughout a birthday party. The pub was big... More

Visited early Saturday evening. Downstairs very busy with drinkers. Upstairs quieter for diners with several eating areas. Service friendly and efficient with good wine. Smoked trout and broad bean salad was undressed with very few broad beans, and came with sautéed potatoes rather than advertised potato salad. Shoulder of lamb was substantial but needed some good gravy. Chocolate brownie good.... More

This is my 3rd visit to this brilliantly situated restro-pub, everything was 1st class from the scenic location to the menu to the selection of ales available. Just as usual. If you are looking for somewhere to eat as a large group of over 15 or so they have a large semi-private room at the rear. I'll be back!

Me and my partner went here for dinner and we're not disappointed. Great atmosphere with very friendly staff, all rounded off with lovely food and a reasonably priced bill. Will always recommend this place
