Stopped in here late one afternoon, unfortunately too late for food: the kitchen closes at 16:00 we think. We had a couple of pints at the bar, it was nice and quiet so had a good conversation with Liam, our bartender, and another of our pub-goers. When we go back to Manchester we'll go out of our way to go... More

We went to this pub yesterday (16/08/14) and i ordered the Cajun chicken breast on ciabatta bread. It came and looked quite nice! Very spicy hence why i didnt notice as the spice took over! Half way through the chicken burger,i realised that all the way through the middle of the chicken was actually raw!! The meal was taken back... More

Called in here saturday lunch time, just looking for a quick pub lunch, and just usual pub grub not the bistro kind. Girls behind bar very friendly, personable and helpful. Not a bad menu plenty of old favourites on there. one of the girls recommended the special, 8 oz sirloin steak chips and salad £7.95 so we settled for that.... More

Very pleasant, helpful staff serving a good selection of beers and good food. Wine choice is limited. Good, relaxed, atmosphere with a good mix of locals and visitors. Typical city centre pub - worth a visit.

Have been to the Town Hall Tavern on many occasions and thought it was about time I reviewed it. It is to my mind a pub that sums Manchester up, friendly and down to earth and I love the atmosphere. I have not eaten here, so can't review the food, but friends have said it is fine. The landlord and... More

Serves a selection of good ales and home cooked food, in a pleasant atmosphere. Good prices and all the usual pub-grub favourites. What's not to like?

We stumbled in here by coincidence, guided by the high ratings on tripadvisor, being very hungry. Although we are fans of pubfood and don't mind a simple meal, most of our food was simply tasteless. Although we asked the waiter (all of the personal also seemed too young to really be working year round in a pub) for suggestions, he... More

The real ale we had was of really poor quality. We had a second because sometimes you get a bad batch but the second one was worse. Im not sure if its just not a big seller for them or if it was a bad time to try it, but with some of the best real ale pubs down the... More

There is no shortage of places to eat in Manchester, so we decided to use the "Near Me Now" facility on TripAdvisor and the Town Hall Tavern came up showing decent reviews. We have had a drink in there previously, but never eaten. The visit got off to a great start with a very impressive pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord.... More
