We were staying close by in the Crowne Plaza and walked by the buzzing restaurant Salvis. We just asked by chance for a table which we were accommodated without any hassle. Great food lovely staff, what a find

Visited before - lovely food , good atmosphere . But it lacked this . Food was average and wine was overpriced, no atmosphere . Waiter was good - Chinese guy. He was friendly , efficient Husband had seafood spaghetti was ok but my pizza although...tasty was very sloppy and not very hot . Restaurant seemed a bit chilly as well. It was closing for refurbishment so hopefully it will reopen and be better .More
Fantastic meal, authentic food, great service and very reasonably priced. This is the third Christmas which I have been here with family (including twice as a party of 10 people). Each time we have really enjoyed, we have been looked after very well and find...that there is a good menu and good environment. As there is always Italiens eating there, we know the menu is good. Would highly recommend.More
Salvi’s was a disappointment. They clearly don’t approve of solo diners, and let’s be clear they are not turning people away. Food average. Service poor. Expensive (£30 for one glass of wine and a bowl of pasta with dollop, or at least that’s how poor...it tasted). Pay machine thrust to my face when I asked for the bill with no opportunity to remove the service charge (given it was poor). I’m so annoyed I wasted a meal out in here!!!More
An Italian friend brought us here for a great supper. There were other Italian families coming in too so that tells you this place serves authentic food and drinks I had pasta with meat ragu. It was delicious. My wife had pasta with a pancetta...and pistachio sauce. The service and ambience was great. They have a Deli also which has LOTS of imported pasta types I have never seen before. Amazing selection of jars with all kinds of Italian goodness….highly recommendMore
Great place, really cosy family feel to it. The food was delicious and the service was great as well. No complaints, would return
I had the carbonara, some roast potatoes ( though I forget what they were called on the menu ). The service was nice, but I found the food a little disappointing considering the reviews. The carbonara felt chewy and not particularly flavourful. Atmosphere wise most...of the restaurant is underground so quite dark, some people might enjoy that vibe though, and space is at a premium in the centre.More
LOVE this cute little gem. Delicious Italian food and a really cosy and welcoming feel. The food was amazing, I had the gnocchi and my partner had the pizza, it was some of the nicest Italian food we’ve had and reasonably priced for Manchester city...centre too. Will definitely come again when we’re in the area.More
My friend and I called in to this restaurant for something to eat before the Shania Twain concert. We seated ourselves, not knowing if we should. When the waiter finally came over to offer a menu, we asked if he had a vegan menu. He...said they could cater for vegan, but it was limited. My friend asked did they have vegan cheese. He said yes. So we chose what we wanted from the menu then waited and waited for him to return. He returned and took our order and again my friend asked. The pizza will definitely be vegan . He said yes of course. However, he was too busy watching for more customers. He came back with our drinks and told my friend the pizza was NOT vegan. But at this point we were both hungry and had our drinks. She agreed to have the pizza without the cheese. When they came, we felt they were very doughy. My friends was like slop. Mine was tasteless. We ate what we could and paid the bill. For the next four days I was crippled with diarrhoea, which led to a uti. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant.More
Not my first visit and definitely will not be my last. Never disappoints. Gorgeous authentic Italian food. Great service as always. The pasta is beautifully cooked to perfection. Would 100% recommend you give it a try if you’re looking for an afternoon or evening meal.
I have been for the most wonderful pizza I reckon I have ever had this afternoon with my sister. It was lovely to see that the staff made sure a dog was looked after. The dog was sitting quietly at a corner table with its...owner and was given a drink of water as it was a hot day. The staff looked after both of us when we went to buy a few treats from their shop. I totally recommend Salvi's. I will return as soon as I can. From Viv G.More
Fantastic food, service, wine and atmosphere! A great independent restaurant……..a must if you visit Manchester!
Came here Saturday with my friend because she had been here before and they had enjoyed it Personally I didn’t First off all they forgot our waters to go with our pasta dishes They did bring some to us after trying to get there attention...My friends pasta was actually nice , pasta with meat But mine was carbonara which was like glue , sauce that had dried up and pasta that I couldn’t digest because it was too hard to chew So I left more then half off it , he did ask was everything ok when clearing the table Which was soon has my fork had been put down super quick aww I did explain and he just apologised Then we gets the bill with the added service charge Fair enough if I had eaten my meal and enjoyed it , but no chance when I couldn’t eat it So I asked for this to be removed and my reasons why He did then try to give us a shot drink has an apology But it’s not what I wanted , but fair enough he was trying to do something about it I did say that I didn’t say anything at the time when my food arrived because I eat slow and my friend eats fast Basically I’d off been sat there eating mine alone and that’s not what I wanted So that’s my experience My friend will be going again but sadly I won’tMore
Service was a bit slow but soon got better once it got a bit quieter. Staff where attentive at first then went quiet and then got good again but overall it was not a bad experience. All our meals where hot and good to eat...although I found the egg yolk Carbonaro very rich. Certainly well worth a visit as it was really quite good.More
Visited in the middle of August with my husband for our 5 year anniversary, the upstairs staff was lovely and made us feel so welcome, we were directed downstairs where we were greeted by a man who seemed dismissive of us at first, we were...asked if we had a reservation which we replied no... The restaurant was slightly busy but not at its full capacity, we were seated at the booth, and as we sat down we were asked for drinks immediately which made us feel quite rushed as we didn't have a minute to look at the menu. it was a lovely atmosphere but it seemed as though the waiter we had was rushing us to order... The food was lovely no complaints about it, It did slightly affect our experience leading us to be unsure if we would revisit it.More
