Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Latin culturewith the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – our home is your home. And as the Eagles sang...“you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave” MusicMusic is our passion and Joe Strummer is at our heart. The Clash inspired us to name our bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. We play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80’s and more. Central American CultureSandinista!s revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front . They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Latin inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor. Rock ‘n’ Roll and Food For the SoulIt's more fun to eat in a bar than drink in a restaurant! Our menu focuses on Spanish Tapas. Our dishes embody Sandinista!’s Latin inspired food ethos: simple great tasting cuisine that reflects the culture it was born out of. Drinks (open every day till 3am)Why did the Mexican push his wife off the cliff?...............Tequila!!!!Sandinista!'s impressively stocked bar offers an impressive range of cocktails from the four corners of the globe, our top sellers being fruity, tangy twists on Mojitos, Daiquiris, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Juleps. Our back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of beers.

Great service and choice of drinks!

A lovely place to meet friends for drinks. Good choice of drinks and staff were helpful and a good choice of snacks on offer with drinks.

Usually don't mind this place, despite the fact the beer is invariably always flat, but it's open late when I finish work. I've been put off by a rather rude bouncer who wouldn't let us in because there was a power cut, despite the fact all the lights were on.... He then said we could come in when the music... More

We went for lunch on a Saturday but found it a little grubby. Staff were very good but menu was a bit limited.

Had a lovely meal here before going to see a show. All the food was hot and fresh, and so tasty. The prawns were amazing. Adam the waiter was fantastic. Lovely frozen daiquiri. And an added bonus was the discount we received for showing our tickets for the show. Will definitely be going back

I had a great night at Sandinistas. The door staff looked out for me when I was going to get cash out and were friendly and welcoming. The bar staff were brilliant and entertaining. The music was excellent and there was a vibrant atmosphere. The food was really good and the prices are reasonable. I couldn't recommend it enough and... More

We were a very large group of international young professionals and unfortunately our Spanish friends were not allowed in. The irony...as Sandinista is meant to be famous for its Latin American influence and delicious tapas. Unfortunately we didn't experience any of that, just extremely rude bouncers and an unhelpful bar manager. We had to quickly leave and go somewhere else.... More

One of our best mates was leaving to go back to Madrid, we therefore tried to organise a great send off and we were hoping to have this at Sandinista. When we got there we were 'welcomed' by quite harsh bouncers that ended up deciding not to let one of our best friends in as he was 'gesticulating'. As he... More

Saturday night in Manchester..... where to eat? Husband, daughter and I wanted something before going to The Royal Exchange. Daughter suggested trying a restaurant around the corner, which served Tapas, something I had only had once before and my husband, never. She suggested Sandinista, as it was literally 1 minute's walk from the theatre but because she had never been... More
