Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Latin culturewith the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – our home is your home. And as the Eagles sang...“you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave” MusicMusic is our passion and Joe Strummer is at our heart. The Clash inspired us to name our bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. We play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80’s and more. Central American CultureSandinista!s revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front . They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Latin inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor. Rock ‘n’ Roll and Food For the SoulIt's more fun to eat in a bar than drink in a restaurant! Our menu focuses on Spanish Tapas. Our dishes embody Sandinista!’s Latin inspired food ethos: simple great tasting cuisine that reflects the culture it was born out of. Our back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of beers.

We spent the day in Manchester ahead of a gig, and came across this place by accident. Staff were welcoming from the moment we entered and showed us to some seats. Great choice of meat and veggie tapas, all reasonably priced and well sized. 5 or 6 dishes between 2 is plenty. We tried a few drinks from the menu... More

Love this place, we always head here after work at 11ish as the bar is open until 3am. Such a good vibe in here, friendly staff, great cocktails and good choice of beers on draught. Their tequila shots are served with a chaser of 'verdita' which they told me is a blend of coriander, mint, pineapple juice and jalapenos. Sounds... More

Been here a few times and rarely disappointed (except for when they run out of beef!). The staff are really friendly, the food is tasty and well proportioned and the fixed price offer makes it very affordable.

Third time here and both the food and services continue to be excellent (even thought the three tapas offer has increased from £10 to £12). Wish there was more vegetarian options as well as at least one or two traditional Nicaraguan drinks and dishes (as the bar is named after a Nicaraguan political movement).

My young son wanted to try Spanish Tapas - traditional food so we decided to visit Sandinista it is a good location in central Manchester not far from the Opera House. We ordered a number of dishes to try which were all delicious I can recommend the Black pudding balls, Chorizo potatoes and Egg and the sumptuous Paella. The food... More

We had a late lunch here and chose 6 vegetarian tapas. On paper the food looked delicious, but in real life were a bit disappointing, nothing specific, just slightly lacklustre. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly,so it was a shame about the food.

Came here on a Saturday evening as 'overspill' from the Christmas markets for some drinks. Our friends left to go home after a few hours so myself and my boyfriend ordered some tapas and red wine. We had actually been here for our first date back in August 2012 and had a great time then so the place is special... More

We found this pub whilst looking for somewhere to have a quick drink at diner time. The drinks were a bit expensive at £6,50 for a large white wine but given that the Christmas market was on in Manchester and everywhere was packed out it was a price worth paying just to get a seat. The pub also did food... More

Nachos always spot on. Good chatty people that work there. Always 3 guest beers on. Lots of bottles and the usual staples on tap. I like the place. Be good if they turn the heating on this winter for once
