Description: Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Latin culturewith the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – our home is your home. And as the Eagles sang...“you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave” MusicMusic is our passion and Joe Strummer is at our heart. The Clash inspired us to name our bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. We play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80’s and more. Central American CultureSandinista!s revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front . They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Latin inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor. Rock ‘n’ Roll and Food For the SoulIt's more fun to eat in a bar than drink in a restaurant! Our menu focuses on Spanish Tapas. Our dishes embody Sandinista!’s Latin inspired food ethos: simple great tasting cuisine that reflects the culture it was born out of. Drinks (open every day till 3am)Why did the Mexican push his wife off the cliff?...............Tequila!!!!Sandinista!'s impressively stocked bar offers an impressive range of cocktails from the four corners of the globe, our top sellers being fruity, tangy twists on Mojitos, Daiquiris, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Juleps. Our back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of beers.

Friends had recommended Sandinista as a place with good music, a good atmosphere and good booze. Four of us headed there for a belated birthday meal. We didn't book, but arrived early enough to bag a table. While we waited to be seated we tried out some of the ales at the bar. If you're not sure what to go... More

Was expecting a real authentic tapas experience after reading the reviews on here. We walked in and had to wait at the bar whilst a man behind the bar stood and stared at us as did the chef. No acknowledgement or smile or anything to welcome us. We were finally greeted by another man behind the bar who asked us... More

Love this place, it's a proper hidden gem in Manchester! Food is delicious as well as being well priced and good sized portions. Staff are incredibly friendly and service is quick. Also love the general atmosphere and feel of the place, and the music is class too. A must for food and/or a drink in Manchester!

Have now eaten here on two occasions in the last few months and taken drinks here on a few more occasions. We love it. Great food, good portions, very tasty, great music and very reasonably priced drinks for a central Manchester bar. No one rushes you, the music is not too loud you cant hear yourself think and it has... More

Me and my girlfriend decided to branch out from our usual preference of american style restaurants and try out some where new. We came across Sandinista online and thought we'd check it out based purely on how cool the decor looks. Within twenty seconds of walking through the door we were seated, with drinks and menus. At first impression the... More

My husband and I chose to come here for our late Anniversary meal and we really weren't disappointed at all. The welcome was lovely and we were seated straight away. Drinks promptly followed and the waitress talked us through the menu. We decided to share the cheese and meat platter and then chose 2 tapas dishes each. The garlic prawns,... More

The first time I went to Sandinista was because of some friends of mine that were having a drink there. Since that day, I never quitted. Warm atmosphere, brilliant staff and excellent music. Thank you for all the evening spent there (: Sandinista: mi casa es tu casa!

I hired the private room downstairs at Sandinista's for my 30th birthday party October 2014. I will start by saying i had the best night of my life! The food, venue and staff were faultless! I am extremely grateful. Details: I booked Sandinista's because of the Cuban theme. I'm a cuban salsa dancer, and the theme for my salsa/RnB party... More

We had wine and tapas here pre-theatre. The staff were very welcoming and took time to explain the menu. They made us feel welcome. The food was good, the usual tapas and generous portions, though I wouldn't have the Catalan bread again. Everything else was great. It was a lively, buzzy bar, just what we were looking for. Although they... More
