Inspired by a love for music, food, drinks and Latin culturewith the maxim ‘nuestra casa es tu casa’ – our home is your home. And as the Eagles sang...“you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave” MusicMusic is our passion and Joe Strummer is at our heart. The Clash inspired us to name our bar after their 4th album ‘Sandinista’. We play an eclectic mix that covers rock, indie, funk, soul, reggae, 80’s and more. Central American CultureSandinista!s revolutionary theme is influenced by the political movement in Nicaragua - The Sandinista National Liberation Front . They liberated Nicaragua with an oppressive right-wing regime in 1979 to 1990. The Central American influence is carried throughout the Latin inspired food and drink menu as well as the décor. Rock ‘n’ Roll and Food For the SoulIt's more fun to eat in a bar than drink in a restaurant! Our menu focuses on Spanish Tapas. Our dishes embody Sandinista!’s Latin inspired food ethos: simple great tasting cuisine that reflects the culture it was born out of. Drinks (open every day till 3am)Why did the Mexican push his wife off the cliff?...............Tequila!!!!Sandinista!'s impressively stocked bar offers an impressive range of cocktails from the four corners of the globe, our top sellers being fruity, tangy twists on Mojitos, Daiquiris, Mai Tais, Margaritas and Juleps. Our back bar boasts an array of quality tequilas, rums and spirits with a fine selection of beers.

Made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the meal

Went early doors as a couple. Shared 3 for £10 tapas plus one extra with a jug of sangria. The food was plentiful and tasty and the lady who served us was delightful, indulging our attempts at Spanish. We had churros to go as we were too full to have them after the meal, they were nice too. We... read more

Title says it all. Drinks were very expensive too. Wanted the chicken wings, were told this would take 45 mins?? No one wants to wait that long for their lunch. Service mediocre. Avoid, there are much nicer places out there I'm sure.

The Bar, The Bar Staff, The venue. are all pretty good. it wasn’t until i went out to the cash machine and returned (after having 2 drinks) I was told, not tonight by the bouncer despite my coat and my friends being inside. I politely tried to talk the bouncers round (two Asian men) after trying to say well at... More

Hubby decided we should go out as we were kid free for the weekend. As I aways do I painstakingly went through the lists on the Internet to find somewhere we haven't visited and I came across sandinista. Hubby made a booking and we went. When we arrived we were led to our seats in this dark, little, cosy restaurant.... More

Came here for lunch/tea with my friend, we got 3 for £10 on the tapas, was a good size as we didn't want to eat too much. My friend wanted a glass of sangria but they only serve this in a jug for £12 which was a shame! My friend is also fluent in Spanish and one of her meals... More

The meat tapas were very good. Very nice albondigas, chorizo dishes and, despite the pork belly being a little over cooked, the creamy sauce was delicious and more than made up for it. Ms Geben was less impressed with the vegetarian tapas, however, with disappointing tortilla and the aubergine dish. The salt cod croquettes were lovely though. But I'm the... More

Enjoyed tapas here before going to Royal exchange. Waitress gave us 15% reduction. Tempranillo complimented tabla variada, albondigas, pan catalan & chicken livers. Delicious!

Call in for lunch to have some tapas. Ordered Patatas Bravas and Albondigas and was told I could have a third one for a total of £10. Choses Jalapino Poppers and all three were excellent. Certainly a place to go back to!
