Was ok, sandwiches overpriced but had a good amount of filling and was very fresh. Good selection of teas
Been here a few times and love it. Food, service, atmosphere is amazing. I really recommend the brunch menu - I had muffins with salmon and poached eggs and it was lovely (also the peach tea is yummy!) I have heard the cocktails are good :)
The decor and service in here is lovely, and not rushed. The attention to detail on the bar area is nice. The drinks are reasonably priced for a restaurant, and there are a good range of teas, however the food is so overpriced! For a 'tuna melt' which sounded lovely - I received a slice of toast with tuna (the... More
I love this place. My husband and I eat here whenever we come to Manchester, sometimes making the 1 hr drive just to come here. It's hard to put my finger on what it so good about the place, it just has a distinctive atmosphere that is lovely. The staff are all fantastic, though I do second a review on... More
This is a busy spot in the Northern Quarter, shabby chic with mismatched china and really fabulous cakes. I had a gluten free afternoon tea which was delicious, it consisted of 4 mini sandwiches (smoked salmon and cream cheese, brie and picked cabbage, coronation chicken and egg mayo), a huge slab of cake, a lemon posset, a macaroon, a strawberry... I took my fiancé here after we'd hit the shops for her birthday yesterday. We'd had a look previously at their website and great reviews and decided it was the place for us. We both had the works! (and why not we where celebrating) A selection of scrumptious sandwiches, cakes all on a 3 tier stand with our own choice... More
Went with a group of friends celebrating the hens upcoming wedding. This was my suggestion so I was a little apprehensive that some guests might not like it however every one enjoyed their experience and left inspired to recreate the experience at home. Staff were exceptionally attentive and organised. Fabulous selection of tasty little rolls vegetarian and smoked salmon and... More
When this place first opened it was about 1950s afternoon tea - and it was so well done. I would take every visitor to Manchester to Sugar Junction for the experience. But my last two visits have been marred by slow service and on the last occasion the staff weren't dressed up - which was part of the spectacle and... More
Went back to try the new evening cocktails and cake menu. Very impressed, they were well presented, different and tasted yummy. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was great with downstairs open. Def a place to book beforehand though as gets busy.
I've been to Sugar Junction now several and the food is always great but you seem to wait for ages for it to be delivered. Just how long does it take to make a cup of coffee, pot of tea and to bring a slice of cake?
