New to West Didsbury’s Burton Road, The Rose Garden serves exciting contemporary British food created by owner and head Chef William Mills. It’s very much a family affair — William’s elder Brother Tom constructed the interior to a design created by their architect father, the restaurant’s striking visual appeal is complemented by professional but informal table service from William’s younger siblings.

Never fails

The Rose Garden is one of our "go to" places when we want something really special. I will never quite get over the starkness and when the place is full it can feel a little crowded, but I love the food, the fizz cocktails and have never been treated anything other than excellently. We visited the Rose Garden on a Saturday night, having booked two weeks in advance. The place lived up to expectation; it deserves its obvious success. The atmosphere was buzzing with real people simply enjoying themselves. The menu was the most exciting I've seen for some time and the food superb. Staff friendly and accommodating. Re booked in two weeks... More

We visited the rose garden with friends for my partner’s birthday. Because I am a coeliac I called in advance to check that they could cater for me, especially for dessert. I was assured that yes that was the case because the owner was a coeliac too. My girlfriend was given a bag with presents in by our friends. We... More

We used to love it here! But the service is now shockingly poor (15 minutes wait before we were invited to order drinks?), the portions are tiny and actually shrinking (like the proverbial Curly Wurly) and prices are rising faster than a kid on Christmas Day. Disappointing.

Dined here for the first time on Friday with family as my brother loves it... The food was very tasty and our waiter was lovely but a pretty bad error meant that we were all left without our side orders to accompany our main meals. For those of us who ordered beef that meant we were literally left with some... More

I think we were so lucky to get an 8.45pm reservation when we rang that night only an hour or so beforehand. I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and now I have been I can't believe I've been missing out all these years! The menu is concise and exciting, my partner and I really struggled to... More

I went here recently. Have to say the food is really lovely, cocktails- there are two options, I had both and they were ok. The service is excellent, that's definitely what makes this place stand out. Be prepared to pay though, it's expensive!

Loved this place - the food the service and the decor - love love love ! Definitely book as very busy and the restaurant has limited covers. The food is a really high standard and good quality - everyone enjoyed themselves and we would revisit no question The only small down point is it's cold upstairs so dress warm !

The rose garden is nice and has very fancy food. But, the portions are tiny and more the the kind of size you would expect from a tasting menu. In addition, the dishes, although very rich in flavour and cooked perfectly, taste unbalanced due to the fact that there are no carbs whatsoever. If you realise your mistake after the... More

My wife and I dined at the Rose Garden on the last Saturday of January and came away with slightly different opinions. The almost minimalist interior design we liked but felt it wouldn't serve for that "special occasion" however it was perfect for our night out..very comfortable. The service was excellent. We had a prosecco and a beer whilst selecting our food.We chose...
