Must visit, hidden (but very busy) gem.

Visited with daughter and granddaughter for birthday treat. We received a warm welcome from the friendly helpful staff. The decor is fantastic, Alice in Wonderland theme. We went to the Richmond Tea Rooms for a get together. There was 11 of us and we thought this place would be lovely. We decided to go for The Richmond Afternoon Tea, £23.50 per head, has to be good, right??? We arrived at our booked time to be told that they wasn't ready for us, please go away for... More

Because we had partied all weekend, I decided that afternoon tea would be good on my actual birthday - Monday. We could not book a table for two people? So, had a little wait when we arrived @ approx. 2.50pm - the place was packed out for that time on a Monday afternoon. The decor is great fun - you... More

Love it here! Beautiful cakes, great food -usually a good soup. Friendly staff.. and Alice in wonderland themed. If you dont like it here, you hate fun.

I was looking forward to my afternoon tea! I loved the decor and the building! The food was poor and over priced! I visit tearooms regularly this tearoom was a let down from start to finish! No skimmed milk so had to settle for soya milk! The Queens tea was a couple of tiny sandwiches and a few cakes all... More

I came here with my mum for afternoon tea on Tuesday afternoon after hearing good things. Overall we had a really good time, but being a waitress myself, I feel that the small things matter and make it really enjoyable, and I felt that this place, and our first time experience, was really let down by lots of little niggles.... We were attracted by the quirkiness of these tea rooms and the reviews had been good. However our experience was quite the opposite. We were waiting a long time to have our order taken and even longer to get it, even then it was incomplete. Other tables who had arrived after us were getting served. Then one of our meals... More

I was taken for afternoon tea as a lovely late Mothering Sunday treat. We were seated without any trouble, and the staff were very accommodating of my 12-week old granddaughter and her pram. We weren't rushed, and the food and service were generally good. However, I'd give a big black mark for the fact that the sandwiches had obviously been... More
