Cheap and cheerful chain type pub

Interesting decor that doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, traditional pub or chic wine-bar type establishment. Our food order was tasty, reasonably priced and arrived quickly. This seemed to be quite a generic chain style pub modeled on wetherspoons. Nothing wrong with the place, but if you... read more

Okay bar but dear. Prices must be set by someone who has not much concept of marketing. Even £2.95 would sound better ! Pricing soft drinks like this gives fuel to politicians to introduce price controls on soft drinks to aid the drink drive campaign..

The food is nothing to shout about, it really isn't!! Service is absolutely dreadful waited 40 mins for jacket potato and chicken sandwich even though it was very quiet and only one other couple were eating.. Pudding was radioed through and 20 minutes later the worker come and said they didn't hear me so they are doing it now sorry..... More

Ordered two chicken burgers when they arrived it was two pieces of very dry chicken fillets with a tiny piece of lettuce and an eighth of an onion. We complained and the chef managed to add a few more pieces of lettuce to it but I think the worst had to be when our sticky toffee pudding arrived it was... More

I have previously given the Lost Dene good reports but after our visit in the week commencing 16th March, cracks are there for all to see. Staffing At 12-15 lunch time one member of Staff cannot look after a bar of this size, including serving drinks, taking food orders, providing cutlery/condiments, and bringing food to the tables. The wait was... More

Went with friends to watch the football, ordered a chicken burger yet received two chicken nuggets (Goujons) instead of a chicken fillet burger with one piece of onion and a dried up tomato... Laughable. My friend ordered a burger, which resembled a dogs chew toy, burnt on one side, hardly cooked on the other.

Standard pub food, staff seemed uninterested in customers just standing chatting most of the time. Steak was undercooked and drinks tasted watery.

The Lost Dene is your typical standard bar but it does what it says on the tin, cheap drinks and cheap pub food. Its not the most desirable bar in the city but due to its great location on Deansgate it's close to everything in town. Its handy for a quick catch up with friends or a quick pub lunch.... More
