Description: Bistro West 156 restaurant is a shining star in the thriving restaurant scene on Burton Road in Manchesters West Didsbury, a quirky corner thats a foodie heaven not all that far from where the M60 and the M56 part company. Bistro West 156s pocket-friendly traditional cooking cuts out all the malarkey to deliver modern British cuisine, the real food that loyal fans adore. The rustic dining room with its granite topped tables, blackboard specials and changing local art displays sets a relaxed tone for easy lunches and suppers. While the food may be fine dining level, the ambience is bistro informal from terrific breakfasts right through to the last sip of dessert wine. Everything is homemade, and customer favourites include superbly cooked comfort classics like fish pie, chicken Kiev and Bistro West 156s very own melting chocolate pudding. You will succumb. The warm welcome and tables outside entice you to linger.

This place is local to us, but we had not been for a long time, hence decided to try it again, based on the gushing reviews on here. Well, the food was OK; bit over priced, but not horrendously so. The service however was distinctly lack lustre. It took nearly 40 min for the mains after the starters had been... More

We popped in off chance tonight for a coffee and were luckily able to be accommodated. Opted for a couple of desserts and two rounds of coffee. My partner had the chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream and I had the roasted pear and pecan crumble with custard. It was really something special. The place itself was cosy and... More

I've just got round to writing a review now of a restaurant in West Didsbury that is one of my favourites, and that I've been to since it opened some years ago. Unusual dishes are beautifully cooked and presented, and on the rare occasions when there has been a problem the service has been unfailingly polite and considerate

We popped in on the off chance that a table would be available last night, and were lucky enough to get one. Everything was available on the menu which is rare in smaller restaurants nowadays. Service was brill, allowing for pauses between courses and not feeling rushed to leave. Ambience lovely, for a small local restaurant. Food was as always... More
