Had a fantastic meal here with my brother. Loved everything on the menu but chose salt and pepper squid (the best I've ever had) and a steak (delicious). Lovely ambience and great service - and all for a meal deal if you eat early evening!

The Bistro is one of West Didsbury's gems. The food is amazing and really good value, especially mid week. The portion sizes are very generous and food of a good quality. The prawn crostini comes highly recommended.

We wanted an informal night out with friends in a local restaurant that offered good food, found Bistro West 156 on Trip Advisor that looked like it ticked all the boxes. We visited last night and weren't disappointed, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was relaxed and a bit like a dinner party in your own home, and the service... More

We took my partner's mum for our Christmas night out. The atmosphere was friendly and warm, food was fantastic and service was attentive. There was a great choice on the menu even for my partner's mum who is a vegetarian. The food was presented beautifully, it was pipping hot, tasted amazing, good sized portions and we all really enjoyed every... More

This is our 2nd time we went as a couple after our first excellent experience. I am pleased that wasn't a one off as the food was again outstanding, possibly the best that Didsbury has to offer. The Duck salad for starters tasted exquisite and my main dish of partridge pie was spot on. The atmosphere was laid back, Despite... More

Food in here is always of a high quality. The only criticism is that the noise can really echo off of the walls in here. It's ok if all tables are taken by 2-4 people, but unbearably loud if there's a large party booked in.p

Food at bistro west is amazing most of the time. This evening we ordered the seafood starter and received chorizo. The waitress was amazing and change with free glass of wine. (Waitress was amazing whole evening) I ordered a dessert I had previously really enjoyed. This time is was totally different. Ginger bread cold, previously warm. Stem ginger ice cream... More

Very good. Nice cosy atmosphere. Good bistro food at a bargain price£18 on a Tuesday. Both starters excellent, tasty and attractive. Chicken and ham pie to die for, wife loved fish platter. Just all too big....can't fault it.
