Went last night with the wife for the first time after reading the glowing reviews here on tripadvisor and i have to say we were a bit dissapointed. It was OK but not fantastic There are better restaurants around that area, we rate The Lime Tree much higher. We did have the cheaper set menu and the choice was a... More

We have been 3 times now and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is always beautiful and the service us great. I would recommend booking as it gets very busy and we have been turned away on a number of spur of the moment visits. Our only problem is we often eat last and they shut early.

I went here on a Friday night with friends. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was warm and cosy. It's set out in a converted house. The decor was nice. I had duck for a main which was tasty. The soft chocolate cake I had for desert was amazing! It's not the cheapest place to eat but... More

Last night I had almost the perfect meal for one at No 4, on the cobbled back street in the heart of Didsbury. Warburton Street is a delight to visit in itself but as I wanted a quiet meal whilst I awaited important developments this was ideal. First of all, the areas for improvement - which are tiny. Boddington's Beer... More

Visited on a Saturday night after making a booking. We were welcomed on entering, our coats were taken and we were shown immediately to our table. Our drinks order was taken and drinks plus table water delivered quickly. Following our food order being taken we were told one of the items had been withdrawn from the menu and one of... More

Went to No 4 on Wednesday 11th April to see if the place lived up to it's TripAdvisor ratings. Arrived early and were seated immediately. Decided to have the set weekday Menu deal which was good value for the choice and quality. The Pate and Chicken Pie were excellent , but the Coup d'Grace was definitely the Crepe Suzette desert!!... We found this place totally by chance during a sunny Saturday lunchtime walk in Didsbury. It looks quite fancy so I was scared it would be too expensive, but we checked the price and it seemed okay. Indeed, we spent about £20 each (including a glass of one) for a started and a main each, which for that type of... More

This restaurant was fantastic - classy service, food is out of this world , good choice and the atmosphere was really good. The food itself is actually not badly priced for what you get , good portions and the three of us were very impressed. Fish dishes particularly excellent. Good wine choice as well with a range of prices -... More

Another fantastic meal at No.4! A group of 5 of us had dinner on Friday night here. The service was soo friendly and the food was excellent. We were able to take our time and enjoyed a great evening. The restaurant is peaceful with no loud music but just the buzz of conversation keeps the atmosphere going. It is also... More

Booked for a romantic Friday night dinner, the place was busy and had a nice, if a little bland, atmosphere. Service was nothing special - nothing wrong, but I didn't feel there was much effort being put into it, and we weren't checked up on through the night. The food was fine, though nothing to rave about. After reading the... More
