The dramatically glamorous surroundings of Opus One are a sharp riposte to the Italianate façade of the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester in which it is situated. An extravaganza of red chandeliers, glossy black woodwork and antique gold wall hangings give this striking central Manchester restaurant a bold, vibrant ambience. Cuisine is fittingly modern British, with locally sourced produce dressed up in excitingly eclectic flavours.

Late evening with bubbles

As we are staying at the hotel, we came back to late evening on Friday nite meal out. Had two glasses of champagne and one gin and glass of port. It seemed very busy but we got a table straight away in the bar area. The only down side is that for the price you paid upmarket bar usually bring free... read more

Visited for afternoon tea with my daughter. Staff were very nice and gave us all the information we needed to select from the menu for afternoon tea. Venue very relaxed, tables spread out, so very intimate. Great selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones, beautifully presented. Unlimited tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Excellent place for an indulgent afternoon.

My review is rather late as I playing catch up!!! I came here May 2014 as my daughter had shortlisted a few places for her 18th, so we called in for lunch and a cocktail - while we were there my daughter just said 'this is the one, this is where I want to go!'. So I booked a table... More

I received a voucher for my Birthday from buyagift.com for Afternoon Tea for 2 which I was obviously thrilled about. I had decided to take my Mum for a girlie afternoon, my Daughter had just booked her wedding (very exciting) so I rang and enquired if I could pay for her too so she could come along too. What a... A group of 6 of us went for the Afternoon Tea. The restaurant is beautifully designed and although the colourways are mainly red and black, it is not dark...it was very stylish and glamorous. The place is spotless and the staff are exceptional at their jobs. Some of us had the traditional afternoon tea and a few chose the gentlemans... More

My fiancée and I had afternoon tea here. The food and drinks were really good. A choice of traditional or 'Gentleman's' teas consisted of a huge selection of sandwiches cakes and freshly-baked scones and cakes. The gentleman's choice included pork pie and Yorkshire pudding. All beautifully presented. The service too was excellent. Our very pleasant waitress, Petra, could not do enough to... More

...despite requesting our teas at the time of ordering our food, we had to ask what the delay was, some 10 minutes the sandwiches and cakes arrived. When we finally got the attention of the waiter, he asked us to remind us again what we ordered as that would save him time checking through his order book! The female manager... More

Barnaby served my sister and I for afternoon tea at Opus One in the Radisson Blu. Great service and had a good choice of traditional or gentlemen's afternoon tea; we chose one of each and that was a good choice. Plenty to eat with both. The gentlemen's had some hot food with it which my sister loved but I went... More

I came here with a group of three friends for the Champagne afternoon tea to celebrate a fiftieth. The sandwiches, cakes, tea and champagne were all lovely, too much for me to eat it all! We sat and chatted for about 2 hours whilst enjoying the food. We were sat at one end of the conservatory on comfy sofas which... More
