First love never dies

We started coming to Kabana many years ago and it's still the best curry that feels like 'home'. My husband always has the chicken, I always have half-half of any two vegetarian dish they have, and between us we have nan - sometimes cheese nan for a treat! The cheese nan is so tasty with cheese... read more

We happened to fall across this hidden gem totally by accident. I was in Manchester with a colleague on business. I initially noticed this Indian cafe whilst sitting in traffic, I noticed the 5 star for hygiene notices in the window. The venue is basic plastic chairs and tables but very clean, it wasn't that busy whilst we were ther... More

I started coming to Kebana as a student in 1992 , since this time it’s relocated, but has exactly the same chef turning out the exactly the same amazing curries that it always has done. I have travelled around a lot in those last 20 years, but I try to revisit Kabana about every couple of years or so. I... More

Great little lunch spot, good selection of curry's on a bed of rice. Food was good, service fast, is basic interior plastic seats but clean has a trucker cafe feel to it. Bargain at £5.50 well recommended for a lunch, maybe not a first date!

We frequent this curry house probably once a fortnight as a treat for lunch at work. It's a hidden gem, and well worth a visit. What you won't get is neatly set tables, A comfy restaurant, table service or any other 'restaurant' usuals. What you will get is a queue out of the door. A selection of stunning curries, and... Its a small cafe sort of restaurant, hidden away in northern quarter, but when you find the place you will not be disappointed. Curry here taste different to other Asian restaurants. You can mix and match the curry dishes, cheap price. I just cant explain how tasty it is, you just need to get down here and try for yourself.... More

Have been visiting this place quite often for noon lunch. Freshly cooked food. I liked spinach and mixed veg curries. It was simple and tasty. Freshly prepared Roti's are must try. Was bit disappointed with Lamb tikka and even chicken tikka. But rice and three curries. Delicious

Shared several dishes with friends tonight -a great feast! Arrive late in the day any owner happy to serve us and chat about the cafés history and our love of curry. We will return for the Sunday lamb special. Fab food highly recommend

I have been visiting the Kabana for about twenty years since the time when half a dozen Indian cafes were the only eateries in what is now called the Northern Quarter. It is an informal self-service cafe with a choice of daily specials. Despite the growth of many other food outlets in the locality it remains busy with high quality... More

I am a big fan of Indian food and I must say I would eat here a lot if I lived in Manchester. The decor and atmosphere may be simple but the quality of the food makes up for it. If you are looking for great indian food at very reasonable prices for a casual occasion or meal, this is... More
