evening meal

Had a drink in the bar at the back before moving onto an evening meal in the front part of the Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also a large outdoor seating area by the carpark. I ate from the specials menu and my partner from the dinner menu. Whilst I enjoyed my meal my partner... read more

Service was very slow and not very friendly. Had to wait at the bar for sometime before being pointed in the direction of our table. Took ages for food to arrive and quality of food was poor e.g. Undercooked chips. Sat around waiting for desert order to be taken and gave up. Not even asked if we had enjoyed our... More

I've stayed at the Red Lion about 3 years ago and found that although the bar and restaurant were just as you would expect from a 400 year old Cotswold pub, the room, with its mock antique decor left a lot to be desired. This time, and with new owners, I stayed in a double loft room with ensuite which... More

We visited for dinner on a cold Monday evening in March and managed to get a warm table by the open fire. We hadn't booked and were surprised how busy it was. I ordered a fine fish and chips and my wife had fishcakes with excellent new potatoes. Good real ale and a good sauvignon. Overall a good pub!

We enjoyed a delicious evening meal with plenty of choice, by a roaring wood fire. The staff were very chatty & friendly. Reasonably priced & plenty of it I wish I could have managed one of the puddings. Next time!

There were 15 hungry walkers staying in Ebrington (five minutes away) and we ate at the Red Lion for two nights running. We rang our food order through a couple of days before and everyone was very satisfied with their choices. Meals were very tasty and well proportioned at affordable prices. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. We... More

We spent a few days in Chipping Campden and decided to have our evening meal here twice. Food was cooked perfectly, it was great value and deserves to be rated higher that it currently stands. The staff were very friendly and helpful and locals were popping I as well. Worth a visit if you want good food at a reasonable... More

Tracy and her team took a late booking from us for a Friday night night meal for a large family gathering. Even though the number of diners kept changing right up to the point of sitting down to eat the staff coped. We ate traditional fayre that was wholesome and reasonably priced. There was a good selection of drinks and... More

Good pub food in a quaint setting. We ate in the main part of the pub which was very quaint and 'old fashioned'. It was a little chilly for me even though we sat next to the gas fire but the food was warming, the portion size very good and the mash totally lump free! The single member of staff... More
