Top top top homemade pie of the day. I promised the people I would write this review.... Sorry it's taken so long. The meat pie was the best I've ever had. Beautifully cooked and a great portion. The fish pie my wife had tasted superb as well.

Happened upon this pub, one Saturday afternoon in Oct whilst having a little walk around Chipping Camden (which is glorious by the way!) We were starving and fancied a pint, and popped into the Red Lion; it’s a proper traditional English pub, with dark furniture and lamps – it’s lovely! They were still serving food at 15:00 but just sandwiches.... More

Spent the weekend in this lovely little town and would highly recommend stopping off at the Red Lion Inn for food!! We was served by a lovely lady (i think her name was tracy) who made us feel so at home nothing was of any trouble. The food was wonderful, perfect portion sizes and the price was more than reasonable.... More

We arrived in Chipping Campden for a week-long cottage rental at the end of Sunday lunch and the first place we tried, literally at 2:58 p.m., was the Red Lion. It was right up the High Street from our lodgings, and we were starved. I only note the time – 2:58 p.m. – because we remembered waiting a few minutes... More

Nice relaxed pub with an entertaining parrot. Open fire. Staff friendly. Food average. I had salmon with stir fried noodles. Very much a dish of two halves. The salmon, veg and sauce was really good, the noodles were the worst I've ever eaten. Everyone else who had that dish thought the same. Other meals looked better and people enjoyed them.... More

After researching for the best roast in the cotswolds, I was lead here, there were so many good reviews for this place, so i reserved a table for sunday lunch, they forewarned me that the roasts can run out so I was advised to order in advance, for this I thought I was going to receive a gastro delight, but instead... Had a great meal here. Lots of atmosphere and plenty of choice of beers. It seems many of the locals visit this place

We just spend 4 nights at the Red Lion Inn in Chipping Campden. We had wanted to experience everything in the area so only planned 1 meal at the restaurant. To bad as the mael we had was excellent. My husband and our friend had the lamb shank which they both said was great and both enjoyed. I had the... More

Really good, flavoursome food and very reasonable prices - would go again. Duck was very tender with a nice sauce and the liver & bacon was well cooked. Our waitress was very good at her job and looked after us well even though she was very busy.

Called in by chance during a visit to Chipping Campden for lunch. The staff were very friendly and the building itself is a fantastical old inn with huge fireplaces and pretty carved windows. I had liver and bacon which was very tasty. My wife had tuna jacket potato which was properly baked with a crispy skin which isn't always the... More
