The food is always very good - London standard and was last night. And the service is friendly and efficient. But the waiting staff lack knowledge of the food they are serving. One example - I could give others - we asked for cheese and were served a plate of five very good looking cheeses. But when I asked what... More

We had an excellent dinner here two nights ago. As it should be - a relatively short menu of freshly prepared tempting dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Our dishes were very good indeed. The wine list gives a good range of choice and our Rhone reds were first class. Most importantly the staff were attentive, without being over attentive... More

We had the pleasure of a great Saturday dinner in the King's Hotel restaurant. We were welcomed hospitably and had the opportunity to have a drink in the bar prior to dinner. The main dining room is light, bright and comfortable. We had a table by the window, which provided a good breeze on a very stuffy night. The menu... More

The food was ok, but when paying £150 for dinner for two one does expect better service. Upon first look, this place looks like a lovely establishment, but I wouldn't visit again.

I do not use to have above average experiences in restaurants from hotels, nevertheless I was surprised here, specially by selecting from a menu offering. Ambience very nice, well decorated, and not noisy, something that I really appreciate.

Lovely building in the centre of Chipping Campden. We ate in the bistro area rather than the more formal and more expensive restaurant. Food was tasty, service was good and excellent value. The fish cakes and venison faggots are recommended.

Fab food in a lovely garden on a spring Sunday. A great spot off season for a Sunday stroll in Spring. The garden is pretty and the staff were young and thoughtful checking if we needed a pud before they closed the kitchen.

We called in here for lunch while we were wandering around Chipping Campden on one of the first sunny days of 2014. The restaurant is well appointed and the service attentive. My friend ordered a salad with extra leaves and I had a large Caesar salad. The extra leaves did not appear until after the second request. My Caesar salad... More

We ate a two course dinner at the Kings Hotel. The menu was interesting and very high quality. Service good too. We also had a drink in the bar afterwards, which was a little lack lusture - never good when you can hear staff chat away in the background ... but it was a slow night and we did have... More

Had an excellent meal, the quality of the food was London standard, however the price was not, very reasonable indeed . I had Pigeon to start, followed by the Belly Pork, and finished with the Cheese Board, all three courses where faultless. I would definitely return.
