Quaintly good

Was traveling through Chipping Campden with the dig in tow and just fancied lunch! Came to the Lygon and sat outside in the courtyard area. I must say it was really nice, not the cleanest but well worth a visit, especially if you have a dog! Fortunately food was served all day, not like some other... read more

Passing through Chipping Camden on a Sunday fternoon. Hungry and thought would probably miss end of service but lucky to get a table here. Really tasty food, and generous portions. Had no room for dessert even thought the selection was tempting.

When we first walked into the bar of the Lygon Arms Hotel, we were not very impressed. It was nice enough, but didn't seem special. Then we stepped outside and looked down alley where there were several tables set up. We immediately decided to eat there. The alley has a nice breeze blowing through it and is wide enough not... Go hungry as you will be served additional side dishes along with your main dish. Good solid food; did not go home hungry!

Visited the LAH on a Friday evening with friends visiting from Australia. They had eaten in several other eateries in Chipping Campden before we joined them and, based on the quality of other establishments and it's 'middle range' rating on tripadvisor, we were looking forward to a cosy, quality pub meal in central Chipping Campden. The pub/restaurant itself was great,... More

Stumbled in by chance. Great atmosphere. Amazingly good food. Best chips we've ever had. Friendly, smiling hostesses. Extremely cute village. Thoroughly enjoyable. Chipping Campden, and the Lygon Arms, are both must visits.

The Lygon Arms uses beef from their own farm to provide, in my view, the best roast beef in the Cotswolds. I enjoyed it so much I went back a couple of nights later for another one. The pub itself is quaint, with a good selection of local and imported beers and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly.

We walked into the Lygon Arms without a dinner reservation, and while the pub side was completely full (too bad, because it looked like a fun place!) the staff was able to accommodate us in their second dining room (one plus: that room is non-smoking). Their menu features many pub staples but also includes some other regional favorites, much of... More

All the staff seemed polite but there's a rogue woman who appears to the be the manager who was exceptionally blunt and rude cutting you off and 'dressing down' her staff in front of us. We left after not finishing our drinks as we were fed up with her looking down her nose at everyone. Chip on shoulders - avoid.
