Good food but it would be nice to see it! (Dark)

Went for a wedding anniversary dinner so dimmed lighting could be seen as appropriate, but there is dimmed and then there's dark! Service was friendly and the wine excellent - though champagne by the glass wouldn't go amiss. The food tasted fine, but it would be all the nicer if you could see it... read more

Visited with a group of 8 for Mothers day, staff were extremely accommodating seeing as we booked late in the week and requested to eat late in the afternoon. We all hugely enjoyed the meal, staff were chatty and friendly, lovely menu (particularly the puddings!) and the best food we have had in both a pub or restaurant, top marks... More

A second visit to The Seagrave Arms confirmed my first impression that this is definitely a pub/restaurant worthy of a visit. Decor and design are impressive and totally appropriate for a Cotswold country pub but car parking and space in the Bar are somewhat limited. Choice of beers and wines is excellent and the menu is excellent with a small... More

We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast. Dinner was good (though too much salt on the chicken), and breakfast was even better - a superb fruit salad, and a cooked breakfast of good ingredients (though the sausages are a little too 'meaty' for breakfast, if that makes sense. A plain pork sausage would be better). All staff were very helpful;... More

Dear clinteastwood01, Thank you for taking the time to post your review of the Seagrave. We're delighted that you savoured our delicious food, at diner and at breakfast. We're sorry to hear you did not enjoy our breakfast sausages, we usually have such great comments about our local butchers produce. I have certainly taken your comments on board about your... More

We went here tonight with our dog and were made very welcome. We sat in the bar and had the fish and chips, which may have been the best I've eaten (likewise the tartare sauce.) The sticky toffee pudding was lovely- not too sweet with salted butterscotch and popcorn, and the warm chocolate mousse was delicious. I've never left a... More

A repeat visit and this time with friends visiting from Surrey. The food was really great, crab starter especially delicious, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Special mention for the award winning chips which really are the best in the world. Happy to recommend this restaurant and we will certainly return. Thank you Hannah & Newstead.

Thank you Sue B for another lovely review! It was a pleasure to have you back with us at the Seagrave and we're really pleased you had another great experience. Thank you for the chip mention - we couldn't believe we were voted to have the best chips in the UK in a pub/restaurant. We may be very biased but... More

Great atmosphere - old stone building with comfortable seating near fireplaces. Excellent service from a staff eager to please. Menu had sufficient variety and our choices turned out delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Five of us went to this delightful restaurant on the recommendation of our hostess. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Whilst the menu was not extensive there was something for all tastes. The home made soda bread was great. We liked the use of local produce as well.

Thank you suen50 for taking the time to write your lovely review of the Seagrave Arms. We're really pleased to read that the five of you came for dinner and that you had an enjoyable meal. We had Sunday lunch here today and the food was beautiful! Roast beef with a Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, vegetables and a delicious gravy. The portion was big so I barely had space for banana sticky toffee pudding, but I'm glad I went for it! Yum! The service was friendly and they didn't rush us. My husband is sad that... More
