We called in here for dinner and were really quite impressed. It is run by a young team of very enthusiastic people and you can tell everyone is trying to build up a good reputation. We had drinks at the bar first and were surprised and impressed that they had gone to the trouble of offering guests a wide and... More

Ate with my partner in October 2014 and had a largely enjoyable experience. The building itself, a grade II listed 400 year old house in the heart of the Cotwold’s is beautiful and internally well decorated with all the proper furnishings. The service provided was far above what I would expect at a pub, although I retrospectively get the feeling... More

we visited for a 50th birthday. A group of 14 is always difficult to cater for especially when all of the other tables are taken as well. The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was good, some was expensive for what it was but well presented. Would certainly recommend

I took my Mum here for a treat as I heard it was under new management. It was friendly and welcoming and not very busy so service was very good. We all had fish and chips and it was lovely. I especially liked the double cooked chips. We shared some cheesecake and had coffee. Two of us had a glass... More

My partner and I ate here when staying locally and were given a warm reception by the staff. The atmosphere was nice and staff attentive throughout the meal but the food was overly pretentious and when telling the staff I didn't like the main of Ox cheek chilli as it was bland and requested a hot sauce or fresh chillies... Lovely warm and friendly staff to greet you as you arrive. I was given warm homemade dark treacle bread which was fab. To start with I had a delicious rabbit and ham hock terrine with a very smooth beer and mustard sauce. Then for mains a melt in the mouth roast 28 day beef , it was divine, full of... More

Dear Susan M, Thank you for writing of your lovely Sunday lunch on Trip Advisor. The black treacle bread has definitely been one of the teams' favourite of the homemade breads we serve so far, so we were happy you enjoyed it just as much. We were also thrilled to read that the rest of your meal was just as... More

Booked for a special wedding anniversary, very cursory welcome as just shown to a very small table squashed between to other couples so absolutely no chance for any private conversation for any of us. Service was slow, the specials were unimaginative 'pub grub' - whitebait, fish and chips or burger. Limited other menu choices, mackerel starter was good but tiny,... More

We were really looking forward to our dinner here after a recommendation, but were sadly disappointed. A luke warm welcome, a very small menu and overpriced drinks were not the greatest start, closely followed by unattractive presentation of the main courses, just placing a few decorative leaves on top of the food isn't enough! Very little imagination used. The food... More

This was a step down in price and "quality" for us on a weekend away but a step up in enjoyment. The photos don't do the Seagrave justice and we were very happy with our night.
