Excellent food

The chef clearly knows what he is doing. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive. We booked dinner at this restaurant beforehand and felt obliged to honour the booking even though we had some reservations after having peered through the window while it was closed. We had already passed several restaurants in the town most of which appeared cosy and inviting in contrast to the Caminetto. Our fears were not unfounded and if ever a... More

The overall experience here was not good. The onion soup we had barely had any onions in it and had no flavour at all and the veal which should have been breadcrumbed looked possibly battered and was very soggy rather than crispy. We had barely finished our starter when the main was brought up and it was very cringe worthy... More

A beautifully run family restaurant. I had the breaded pork, it was sensational. A lovely atmosphere and fun. You might have to book in high season.

We dined at Caminetto during a long weekend stay in Chipping Campden. We had no difficulty in getting a table on Saturday night, although to be on the safe side it is advisable to book. The menu is genuine Italian (with one or two Anglicised or Gallicised touches), and includes dishes from across Italy. I had grilled sardines followed by... More

Sitting at the lovely high street of Chipping Camden Caminetto offers a nice Italian card. We had pollo pizzaiola and pollo milano accompanied by a super crisp salad. Pollo milano had a fresh tomato sauve. The service was immaculate and amiable.

We went thinking it was Italian cuisine only to find the chef was Spanish! However, food was good and not overpriced, staff (Polish) very attentive, although the place was by no means busy. Nothing special to report.

After several straight days of pub grub we were walking around Chipping Campden looking for something different and stopped here -- fortunately we were early and it wasn't busy yet, but as the evening went on it got busier so I'd recommend reservations if you want to assure a seat. Caminetto has a reasonable selection of standard Italian dishes; our... More

We ate here on Saturday night. We all had starters and main courses but we were all too full for pudding, or even coffee! I had melon and parma ham for starter which was enormous, but very tasty. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The wait staff were very nice and (just the right amount of) friendly. It was... More

Good and efficient service. Puds looked good too but too full to try one! We didn't pre book but the restaurant was quite busy. So could be a good idea to pre book to be sure of a table on busy nights. Family run.
