Contrary to what was an off-putting review in Rick Steves book, we found this to be a very nice Indian restaurant with many choices at all spice levels. Attentive service rounds out a nice experience.

Ordered a takeaway for four of us and couldn't fault the quality of the food or the service. The food was ready exactly at the time stated and very pleasant staff too. Would definitely use this place again. The mixed tandoori special comes well recommended.

It is surreal to sit behind a 19th century pub in a Cotswolds village and eat papadoms and paneer tika. But who cares? The food was wonderful and the service excellent. After a day of walking the Cotswolds Way, we were starving and this was perfect, easily comparable to India itself. They do a big take-away business if you'd rather... More

Came here in August with my wife, mother and sister-in-law. The guy who runs this place, Foonkie (sp?), is a real gentleman (he took the time to make a nice take home dinner for my nephew who was at home and not feeling well). The food here was delightful - my mother usually shies away from this kind of food,... More

Tried for the first time last night, wasn't disappointed. The curries were excellent, maybe a little more chilli would suit me more, and a really good selection of sides. Very tasty and enjoyed by all.

This place is a hidden gem. It's part of a pub which is cracking. The guys who work here are very friendly but its the food that is the star attraction. I've eaten a LOT of curry over the years but I do think this is consistently the best curry I have ever eaten. Well done.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here, excellent service & delicious food, the friendly & efficient waiter gave us a bottle of wine to take home also! Very generous & much appreciated. Will certainly go back.

I am a regular customer of the mahraja I often visit after work and I am always greeted with how are you today did you have a good day/ was it busy today. Which just goes to show how friendly and considerate the staff are. The atmosphere is always buzzing and there is a good mix of locals which is... More

We had Chicken Chat for a starter followed by a Korma with Pillar rice and I had the house special curry with tons of different flavours and egg fried rice. The staff were very friendly and strange with the restaurant being part of adjoining pub.
