Description: A few weeks ago I discovered Nur Restaurant on Edlington Lane in Edlington, Doncaster, and what a great find it has proved to be! Quite a small dining area, maybe seating for 30 to 35, but nicely furnished with a good atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent but not over-fussy.The quality of the food is tremendous and rivals some of the best restaurants over in Bradford, which is famous for the quality of its Indian restaurants. Soft drinks are served but, as it has no liquor licence, they invite diners to bring their own alcohol, which, to me, is preferable. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality & quantity of the food served and the home cooked breads are delicious, especially the giant ‘Family Nan’!They operate an efficient takeaway service too, with collection or delivery available, and I believe deliveries can be made to as far afield as Sprotbrough, Maltby, Wadworth and Balby. There are ‘Feast Nights’ a couple of times a week however I have not yet attended one but it looks very reasonable for what is on offer.I am so pleased I found this place, tucked away just past the Co-op supermarket, on the main road but set back a bit. It has become my favourite eating place in the area.

We ordered a takeaway for the first time from Nur, won't be ordering again, the balti was full of grease and the tikka masala tasted far too sweet. It made me and my husband have a bad stomach the next day.Not good.

We visited Nur for a family birthday on a Saturday night having pre-booked a table for 6. The restaurant isn't in the greatest of areas but don't be put off by this. The staff were very friendly and tended to us quickly when we sat down. The bonus of this restaurant is it's BYOB which is perfect, take as much... More

This is a BYO restaurant, you bring your own beer or wine, although they do serve soft drinks. The place is small and doesn't accommodate more than a couple of dozen diners at once, and the ambience is pretty relaxed. The menu has a great variety of dishes, both the usual British favourites like korma and tikka masala, but also... More

We have eaten from here many times and to be honest the food is very good but when your paying over £6 for a takeway main meal (with out rice)and the carton it comes in is only half full it's a bit unfair to say the least ....SO COME ON NUR DON'T BE TIGHT OR YOUR GOING TO LOOSE BUISNESS

Great food and Mohamed will bend over backwards to cook you what you want, only two problems place is small so booking is essential and what to choose because everything tastes great. I am a veggie and the selection is excellent. There is no bar so you have to take your own booze but they do soft drinks and tap water.

Went on a quiet midweek Evening.Very attentive staff, food was good, fresh, prices very reasonable. Wouldn't go out my way to get there , but would certainly go back !! Lots of competition in and around Doncaster and this makes my top 5! Worth a trip. A tasty dining experience.

Decided I needed a curry fix so straight on the internet for a curry house and read reviews and liked what I read about this place. The 3 of us ordered poppadum's pickle tray, a main and rice each, all very reasonably priced. The food tasted lovely, fresh and delicious. We also ordered the family nan bread, I didn't know... More

This little restaurant was recommended to me by a fellow chef so myself and my good lady decided to try it out. We were both extremely satisfied with the service, friendliness and the quality and taste of the dishes we tried. The decor is a little sparse but its clean and tidy. For what we charged we will definately be... More
