Good early evening deal, beautiful building

For £9.99 you can get poppodoms, curry and rice or naan plus a drink - great deal - I think beween 5-6.30pm approx. Waiters were very professional and attentive. Beautiful building in a converted church. The naan was gorgeous. Very tasty. There was nothing I could fault but as a vegetarian I... read more

Excellent service, fresh ingredients, no alcohol allowed but good range of soft drinks. Also provides takeaway service if you ring and ask. The proprietor is always very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Early bird deals available at set times

This is my favourite restaurant in Lancaster. You are always made to feel welcome. The food is good, but my real treat is the lemon sherbet drink. The decor is great too.

Unauthentic tastes. I am an Asian from London who is used to quality subcontinent restaurants such as Tayyabs, but the cuisine at Sultan is definitely far from the high standards in most other places. The daal was runny like soup, the naans were ridiculously large, thick, doughy and overpowered any other taste in your mouth. Most naans are there to... More

Would not eat anywhere else in lancaster. Quite simply wonderful. Brilliant service and delicious food.Disagree with the other reviewer that complained about no alcohol, for us it means that its family friendly and avoids the 'lads night out crowd'. The fish starter was devine. 5*****

My wife and I love this restaurant. We dined here on the evening of February 28, 2015. We had poppadoms and pickles to start but also had the fish masala - this second dish cannot be recommended enough. Imagine a small fillet of white fish coated in masala herbs, deep fried and served on a bed of salad - wonderful... More

only visited once they do not serve alcohol and although the service was good the food was not anything special. The surroundings are ok in an old church

Yet again myself and my husband had amazing food and service as always. If something us not on the menu they will make this specially for you or if you want to change the dish on the menu in anyway they will do this. Garlic nan to die for was delicious. Service was exceptional which it always is.

The food was superb. The atmosphere peaceful, & the staff lingered, helpful & friendly without being obtrusive. The one down side of the place is the stairs into the restaurant. This place is definitely NOT disabled friendly! Shame, as it's the only thing that lowers the rating for us.

Fantastic restaurant. Probably my favourite Indian. Food is always very fresh and well prepared. Focus is on depth of flavour rather than just being hot and spicy. Portions are always very generous especially the huge beautiful nann breads (my fav is their peshwari) Prices are higher than you might expect if you are comparing to your local take away but...
