First visit

Stopped off for the first time with my family and had some lovely paninis for lunch together with a few drinks. The waiter recommended a new hot chocolate which my daughter really enjoyed. Will definitely be going back.

I saw someone commented on the decor, can't say I noticed either way as I go to eat! The staff were lovely, we visited about 1230 on a Saturday, we took the last table ( we deliberately chose it as it was so busy, as we are not local) the young lad who served us very quickly, warned us there... A bit off the beaten track we stumbled over Amy's in need of a cuppa. It was quite early in afternoon but was told there was only cakes available which was ok. Decor a bit tired. Ladies were friendly and happy to explain what a wagon wheel cake was. There were no cakes on show to make a choice and... More

Stopped here for lunch as we have taste card, and got 241, but came away underwhelmed. The young lad taking our order plopped himself down slumped in a chair, felt like he wasn't too fussed to be there. He then went into the kitchen area, took his trainer and sock off and started scratching his feet... Nice! Food was actually... More

So glad I steered away from the chain coffee houses on the main streets & spotted the board advertising this place. (The latte was 20p less than another place I had looked in at.) It was a lovely place to sit, so having read the menu, I called back at lunch time and the toasty and cake were just what... More

Simply put an Americano is an espresso with water, except at Amy's where it comes with milk too. Now it wasn't a bad coffee, it wasn't a bad almond slice but on my suggestion that I didn't want milk in my coffee I was indirectly told that "if he wanted a black coffee he should have asked for one." I... More

On a day trip to Lancaster came upon this delightful little cafe in a quiet back street. We had a cup of coffee and a toasted tea cake in the morning and went back later for lunch. The food was fresh, hot and tasty. The 2 ladies were lovely and friendly and the service was very quick and efficient. Would... More

Been looking for a good place to go for lunch in Lancaster. Unfortunately Amys was not the place. I had a scone, jam and cream with a cappuccino. Well, the scone was so dry and crumbly, certainly wasn'It freshly baked. Not sure if the cream was double cream, didn't taste or look like it. Coffee was ok but I don't... More

Tired and hungry after a morning wandering round the beautiful city of Lancaster, we weren't expecting more than a baked potato as we searched for somewhere for lunch that could do both gluten free and vegetarian. What a joy it was to find Amy's Tea Rooms and her home-made gluten free lentil and vegetable bake. Knowledgable about all aspects of... More
