nice meal

Stopped here for a drink after a full day walking the tourist route, castle , priory, park etc. Lovely setting ended up staying for food which was a fantastic fish stew. it wasn't too busy as it was raining, could imagine it could be bedlam on a nice day.

Firstly I would like to say all the staff gave us a warm welcome. Drinks were good and beers well kept. We ordered the Lancashire burger and a Chicken and Leek Pie. When the pie came it was only warm and contained no sauce or sign of leeks. It was bought to the attention of a member of staff who exchanged... More

I went to The Water Witch on a Monday night to take advantage of the usual Monday night offer of 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. I was going with a group of friends and some family members who have eaten there a few times before. i had heard a lot of good things about the food... More

Hi Julie M Thanks for your review, and indeed complementing my team We have a varied menu with different price points to include main meals from £6.95 and we have many different food offers than run throughout the week. Came here with my two daughters after graduation. Although it was very busy inside, the weather was lovely so we sat outside on one of the benches. We were informed the wait for food was 45 minutes - we were happy to wait as we weren't in a rush though to be fair it was more like 30 mins. The... More

Finished a canal walk after walking into town along the canal from my hotel. It was a pleasant canal side location, with some webbed waterborne visitors wandering by. However, only an odd table at the extremity of the location was available,. . Was tempted by the varied menu, but as orders seemingly finished at 9.30 p.m. with some people waiting... More

A friend recommended this place to us and I'm glad he did! The food was wonderful and such a lovely little place. The only downside was that it was glorious outside but all the outside tables were full so we sat inside. Which was nobodies fault, it was still a pleasant experience. We both got a salad but would've loved... More

I enjoyed the fish chips here but my friends frittata was disappointing. Nice to be able to sit outside and lovely local cheese and cider. Inside was a little bit dirty on the floor so with a few improvements could be a lot better.

Popped in here for a drink whilst moored on the canal near by. £9 for a pint of larger& a bottle of kopparberg is on the rather expensive side. I think this place is more restaurant that local canal side pub. Was nice to sit on the canal though in the nice weather & staff were friendly & helpful
