It's not as cosy as it used to be. The beer range was a bit limited, nothing on from the York brewery despite their tie up. The menu is a little over priced for small portions. It's great in the summer to watch the canal boats in the basin, but needs something inside to give it it's sparkle and edge... More

We only live across the canal so this is our local eaterie. The lunch time meals are excellent value, good portions and food of a very high standard. If there is a problem, the staff are very helpful and quickly rectify any faults. In summer the place is so busy but with the excellent location, it is hardly surprising.

Excellent location by the canal with swans and canal boats floating by. Excellent food and drink at reasonable prices. Superb ambiance.

Food ok but I think it's slightly overpriced, the surroundings are very nice and staff are good, right by the canal with I think gives it the accompanying price tag.

Ordered from the lunch menu. Received cold mushy peas and a handful of hard chips with a tiny fish. My partner ordered the brie ciabatta but it had no brie in it. Just chutney. Won't be eating here again. Shame as lovely little pub.

This pub is wonderfully situated in central Lancaster by the side of the Lancaster canal. On a good day you can sit outside at one of the many canal side tables and watch the world float by. There is a great selection of beers and wine and the food is very good. It is certainly one of my favourite Lancaster... More

We pulled off the highway looking for a place to eat and found The Water Witch. We were pleased with our find. It took a while for the kitchen to prepare our food, but everyone in our party was pleased with the result.

Don't eat here often but when we have the food has been good. The menu is not large but there is ample choices for all tastes and there is also a specials menu which changes from time to time. There is a bit of a wait for food when the pub is busy but after all this is not a... More
