There are better places

Accommodating for a large group that wasn't pre booked. The service was average, and the food took a while to arrive. The coke had to be sent back as it was practically water with a dash of coke. This was resolved and a new coke was provided. The food is okay, it's nothing to scream and shout... read more

Me and my two friends went to the water witch the other day. We always used to go when I was at Lancaster uni. We served our food, enjoyed our drinks. When it reached an hour later we asked politely where our food was. The young friendly waitress went away and said they would find out. They never came back... More

Hello, Firstly thank you for choosing the WaterWitch for lunch and complementing out tasty food! Our fresh food menu is always made to order, unlike many other hostelries. On the day of your visit, due to rare circumstances, that were explained, we were advising at least a 30 minute wait for food from ordering. I maintain that we deliver this... More

My father and I have visited the water witch 5 times over the last 2 years, the latest being last saturday (31/1/15) and have always been impressed with the consistent service and all round quality. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant, right balance between formal and casual. We tend to sit in the bar area which is very cosy but never... More

Two of us went for dinner here - we both had the steak and ale pie with hand cut chips which were the best I've had in a long time - really good. Desserts were yummy too! Would definitely go again - it was nice and quiet in January but I expect the place would be heaving on a nice... More

Hello, Many thanks for writing such a good review about the food at the Water Witch. It's great to hear that you think that the chips were the best you have had in a long time (We think they are pretty good too!). I will pass the compliments on to the chef about the deserts, which i'm sure they will... More

Visited for lunch with my mum. Atmosphere in here is perfect. Wood burning fire gives the place a great feel. Staff were great and service was quick. Food tasted great. "Love to lunch" menu is perfect. Lots of choice and £6 which is great value.

Popped in after a walk for a drink and maybe some food. All the comfy seats were taken which was a shame because the atmosphere was really lovely. Nice staff, we weren't rushed at all. Ended up sharing one of the burgers, in lieu of any salads on the menu as I can't eat bread/starchy products. The burger was big... More

I visit Lancaster frequently on business and usually end up here for one night of my stay. Both the beer & food are great and I like the 'feel' of the place. I'll be back again......

My husband and I enjoy the burgers here. We would go so far as to say they are probably the best in Lancaster. Very juicy, filled with meat and a good portion of sides to accompany it. However, we gave up going to this place last summer. Every time we have been (many times, as we also frequented their weekly... More

I was here more than once last summer and would totally go again! The canalside location is undeniably stunning and same goes for the food (which however is better than the drinks). the service wasn't too quick but everyone was super nice.
