Something different

First time I have visited here and was pleasantly surprised. They do lovely deli boards with lots of different variants to choose from. Well worth a visit, especially on a summer's day when lots of outside seating on the edge of the canal

Standards slipped. Water witch always been a safe bet for a good pub meal. But food standard dropped. Fish n chips poor, batter over cooked, but fish still raw, still had skin on. Pork platter over priced for a pork pie n nibbles.

One of the best steaks I have had since moving to the UK. I had the Ribeye and my wife had the rump steak. Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting. When the weather gets warmer chance sitting outside by the canal for a glorious evening.

The Water Witch has a great canal-side setting, unfortunately the setting is not matched by the service. The staff were welcoming but lacked basic customer service courtesy. When my friend's sandwich arrived with mould on it, we were apologised to and the sandwich was replaced, but sadly I had to ask for a discount on the food as nothing was... More

My husband and I stopped at the Water witch for a drink by the canal after walking from Galgate as it was a beautifully sunny day. We contemplated eating as it was such a lovely atmosphere however I visited the ladies toilets first and this instantly made up my mind that we certainly weren't going to eat. First impressions count!!!... More

Hi CJWESTY Your comments about the loo paper and hand towels are noted and indeed have been fed back into all the team, to ensure more frequent checks of the toilets in this regard. We are awaiting new taps to be fixed to the sink units to avoid the excess water etc, and this is purely a maintenance issue that... More

I searched for a dog friendly restaurant in Lancaster and found this one and as we had been there years ago decided to go again. I was upset to see a big sign outside saying no dogs allowed. Hence we didn't stay to eat.
