What a great find. The food was delicious, Every thing on the plate complimented each other and the menu was obviously well thought out and although not extensive I think there's somthing tasty for everyone. The service was friendly and personal without being intrusive. We really enjoyed our evening here and found it to be really good value for an... More

A very relaxed and enjoyable meal. I could have eaten everything off the menu - the choice was so good. I opted for the creamy garlic mushrooms on brioche - very good, followed by the steak and chips - delicious. I couldn't manage a desert but others in our party went for the ice cream - lots of flavours to... More

Managed to get a table for Saturday 28 February even though it was a late booking - and I'm so glad we did! Good selection of food on the menu (not quite the same as on the website) and the baked Camembert was the best I have ever had - perfectly cooked, plenty of toast, lovely red onion marmalade to... We had a lovely meal at the Basement, attentive but relaxed service and good food. Steak was good, chicken and veggie tartlet were excellent. Lovely desserts all on the fixed price menu. Good value, wine was good and nice relaxed atmosphere. Toilets had a spa feel with candles etc. Access is not for the disabled. We will return!

4 of us chose The Basement for our Valentines Day meal, even though booking only a few days in advance they were incredibly accomodating and managed to fit us in for a wonderful meal. Upon arrival we were met by the loveliest waitress, frienfly and charming and took care of us very well. The food was great (all of us... More

The only reason I knew of Basement was the consistently good reviews it achieves on TA. Although I know Leamington Spa reasonably well, I did not know where Spencer Street was, let alone the location of Basement. However, it is very easy to find, straight down The Parade, turn right at the Jug and Jester and opposite Assembly is Basement.... More
