My friend ordered the prosecco afternoon tea from Travel Zoo and we went there today. You have to make sure you book in advance as it does get busy. When we arrived we were given our prosecco which was delicious. I asked for vegetarian options and after explaining that I didnt eat fish the waitress went off. Our tea arrived... More

We went recently with 2 friends and enjoyed eating alfresco. Arrived at 1 p.m. and left at 5 p.m. after thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant Would most certainly go again as the food and service was excellent. Well done to all at The Walled Garden.

We came here for afternoon tea for a celebration but a few members of the party decided to opt for the lunch menu. The three course lunch at £15 per head does look good value for money. The afternoon tea at £12 per head seemed a little bit expensive for what you get as its simply not enough in terms... More

We were coming back to Preston from Lancaster this evening and decided to try out the Walled Garden Bistro at Barton grange hotel. We didn't need to reserve a table, we just stopped and asked for a table and got one. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. We opted for the 3 course for £15 per person menu and... More

We visited the Walled Garden Bistro last Saturday for Afternoon Tea. We were hoping to have an enjoyable treat, having visited the Hotel previously when our daughter and her husband stayed a few months ago. On arrival, we were asked if we were 'Travelzoo', which we weren't, and the staff didn't enlighten us. The full cost of afternoon tea served... More

Whilst the whitebait was fine and crispy, the chicken breast was dry, and had to be credited off our bill. A sad meal - so simple it was hard to get it wrong, but they did. No doubt - if they're watching - they will deny that they use frozen and packets, but in any case, the result is as... More

Have been frequenting The Walled Garden for a couple of years or so. Highly enthusiastic in my opinion, and have regularly praised and recommended this establishment. It really did take some beating locally. The quality and preparation of food, presented with such great flair, never failed to satisfy. A really adventurous menu always excited the taste buds. I must say,... More

I decided to re-visit The Walled Garden, after all it had a decent reputation. Although the food was good I was overcharged. I chose two courses from the £15.00 Bistro menu, I expected to be charged only for what I had eaten, that's the usual custom in other restaurants. If I return I shall check the bill thoroughly.

We had cause to complain on our last visit here a few months ago and were offered a complimentary afternoon tea and I have to say the Walled Garden has totally redeemed itself! We asked if we would like a glass of fizz which was very nice and then presented with a miniature picnic bench. There was a very tasty... More
