Great service and matching food!!!

On arrival we realised we had made two bookings on the website. One was for the pub and the other was in the restaurant. It was very busy but the lady waiting on us made it clear it was no problem to look at both areas before deciding where to eat. You had to walk out side and round to... read more

Had Sunday lunch here with my family for my brother and sisters birthday. Lots of choice of food, very friendly service, attentive staff. Slightly pricey, but for a special occasion, worth a visit.

Went with a large party of international work colleagues and we were seated in the annex away from the main bar. Staff were excellent and were unobtrusively attentive. Had the set menu B which arrived quickly with us all being served at the same time, everyone without exception was impressed. Relaxed environment, ideal location and although pricey, excellent value. Very... More

Called in as an evening drinks stop with other cyclists. I could clearly see it was above average by the looks of choice on the menu and the general look of the premises. Prices are above average as you'd expect.

One of the new generation of gastropubs trying to make its profit on food more than drink. Great food and ambience. Excellent staff. Great food but slightly pricey.

The food here is really good, it's just that the surroundings is just a pub. A separate dining area would be more suitable, although the area overlooking the kitchen (through a picture window that is sometimes curtained) is normally dining only, these are small tables for a max of four. This is a popular place when shows are on at... More

Evening out to catch up with friends. None of had visited this restaurant before but we went on the recommendation of others. A bit further out than we thought but the restaurant was busy throughout the evening. The setting is very nice and can imagine this being a popular haunt in the Spring and Summer when one can eat outside.... More

We have been here quite a few times before and it never disappoints. It has a cosy atmosphere in the restaurant with good service and excellent food. The starters are particularly good and the Venison main was delicious.

Dinner for 4 last night was good in parts and a bit disappointing in others. Starters - Fishcake, angel hair linguini (veggie) and special crayfish - all very good tho' the linguine was tepid. Veggie main Camembert Wellington, sea bass and steak and ale pudding all pretty good. BUT the 12 hour braised beef was awful! Chewy (not sure how... More
