Visited this restaurant for the second time after dining here earlier this year. We went on a Thursday night and were the only people in the restaurant the whole time, and they only had one takeaway order in that time as well. The food was superb, portions are massive and excellent value for money. Service was good and we weren't... More

Several people told me this wasn't a sit-down restaurant, just a takeaway counter. Wrong! The restaurant is actually clean and pleasant although small, and being within shouting distance of the walk-in order desk is disconcerting at first. The menu is extensive, everything we tried was excellent, and because there's no booze licence you get to brown-bag your own bottles and... More

Ordered takeaway - after waiting 45 min told sorry we're too busy to cook it. Mind you after walking into kitchen and seeing the state of it glad I didn't. Went to top quality chippy opposite - amazing to hear from the owner how many others have had the same problem

Everything was prepares fresh and by hand. It takes a little while for the food to be served but it is WELL WORTH the wait. The Nan bread was great, the rogan-josh and tandoori was fantastic. This was the best indian food i have ever had. the restaraunt is small though, probably only seats 20 people MAX so call ahead... More

Just returned after having meal here tonight. Food was excellent, had to wait but well worth the wait. One problem. Be careful what you order, if you order like we did chicken tikka instead of chicken, then it arrives in a massive portion, and the same applies if you order mushroom rice instead of plain or pila rice. Mind you... More

Ordered at 6pm. They promised take away would be ready at 715. Got family to feed so left at 745 without food and went over the road to Abbey Fryer. Too long and doesn't keep to promised times. There's other Indian takeaways which do a good meal in half an hour. I won't go back.

Booked for 7pm - admittedly on a Saturday evening but left at 9:15 without having our main meal. I would say that the focus of the business was take-away trade but those who had ordered take-away meals had to wait too long as well - sometimes over an hour after their promised time That said, the food is excellent and... Food is very good and is well presented. When my friend and I went there for an evening meal we waited well over an hour for our food - no starters were even given and I was really hungry. By the time the food was served (which was the starter and main meal together - should be done I'd say... More

We've used all the local Indian Take-Aways and won't go anywhere but the Eastern Eye. Very generous portions, the meat is extremely lean (best lamb I've ever had in a curry) and the breads are very good.
