Wonderful Weekday Carvery

The Weekday Carvery was delicious. Plenty of vegetables to pick from and cooked to a fantastic standard. In fact some of it tasted even better than if I had made it myself - much better than what I had anticipated. A family friendly restaurant with plenty to keep the children occupied. Yup, 'what you see is what you get'. Brewer's Fayre is a large chain of restaurants, catering for and to a standard. It's not 'haute cuisine' - it's providing a relatively inexpensive way of eating out for family/friends. Accept that this is the case, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. The service here was good, food quality... More

We ate here as it was next door to the premier Inn we were staying in, but the food was nothing special. It was cheap, though. I had a chicken curry and my husband had fish and chips. There were children running mad all over the place - how the waiting staff managed without tripping over some of them ,... More

Early evening meal & the place was reasonably busy. The staffing levels however were not. Two girls behind the bar struggling to keep up with demand. They were visibly hassled. We waited to be seated but quickly gave up and found our own table. You have to order food and drinks at the bar. This in itself seems to double... More

Food was not delivered that quickly. Not expecting much as cheap and usual chain etc but OMG bacon and chicken pasts well over cooked salad dried out! Mighty burger like shoe leather mixed grill missing the gammon! Portions minuscule! Admittedly we were given alternatives for pasta and burger and offered a sweet. However steak chosen for alternative to burger was... More

It hadn't entered our heads that mid afternoon, even on New Year's eve would be an impossible time to get something to eat out, but everywhere was either closed, or empty yet telling us they didn't have a table available. We turned up here at 5.20, really pretty hungry, and were greeted by a very pleasant and smart young man... More

I was invited to lunch by a business associate and we were joined by four others, so lunch for six. As it was the Christmas season then we were asked to order in advance of our booking. On arrival, the restaurant/bar was very busy with families and working lunches. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Our table was a little... More
