Great local

We love Theoc and now that the menu has changed again it is getting back to the good old Theoc. Great staff and good fancy bar food. You can take your dog too!

Have eaten here about 5 times and every time it's been great. Very good food for all types including young child and vegetarian guests. Decent food for y grandson not 'sweepings up nuggets'! I tend to go for the 3 tapas for £7.50 which is always adequate for me and my husband has the same plus luscious chips. The atmosphere... More

We booked a table for 2 on a Saturday night here and selected the tapas from the menu. The food did not disappoint and was presented very well. It was very well priced and was incredibly tasty. The thai chicken cake and the oriental trout were absolutely fabulous and get a special mention. The place itself is rather like a... More

Think C.S. Lewis meets an Anthropologie-wearing hipster meets the 18th century and you've got the fantastic picture of Theoc cafe. Oh my goodness, the atmosphere is superb with recognisable attention to detail -- clean, chill music, comfy couches, spacious walkways, etc. -- and the book swap library completes the genius that is this local pub. We met one of the... More

I've been here loads of times, whether it be with my mum and grandad for food, or with my friends or fiancee for a drink or just a nice coffee. I like the feel of the place, I like the fact anyone of any age can come here and feel comfortable on their own or in a group. I've always... More

Came here a couple of years ago and was impressed in terms of food, atmosphere and service. This time, service very slow and non attentive. After an ok (no better) burger meal, waited ages to be offered another drink and / or a desert. It wasn't busy yet neither were forthcoming so I left. Pity really, but they have a... More

Unusual place, looks like it could have been a library or class room previously, but that does seem to add to the atmosphere. Ate here one evening after work. Managed to serve up some varied Tapas dishes, of a good quantity and quality. Bar looked well stocked with ales. Would recommend a visit and to try out the menu.

Pretty good selection of beers and food. Food is pretty standard fayre, good selection of options and nothing negative to report from the few occasions I have been. Staff are friendly and helpful and the décor is nice and clean. Agree with previous comments about the loos though, some TLC in that area of the pub would greatly improve the... More

The good first, staff ,friendly , place , really good atmosphere, cosy, comfy Beer , little bit pricey. The bad bit, the food I find can be a little bit unimaginative, not the menu , which sounds great . But the food never seems to live up to the promise. Which is a shame, because I would eat there more.

Ate here unexpectedly on Valentine's Day after stopping in for an early evening drink & saw how good the special menu was. Service was excellent & the food good & very, very plentiful. One slightly strange combo of mash & cous cous with the lamb when a few veggies would have been better. The only thing that's lets our visit... More
