No complaints about service. Decor a bit run down. Food well cooked and presented. Just a bit bland. Good location

We went in the Nirala and found the waiters very polite and helpful. They were rushed off their feet as had a party in but still made time for others guests. Food was of a high standard and the prices was very good. A definite recommendation

Recently with the Halal uproar in the news I am making a more conscious decision to check the welfare of animals before eating meat. I called up to ask for a table and a very abrupt man came across rude and blunt when asking "how many", and "when"? I replied "soon" only to be told "that's fine" and was about... More

We found the restaurant pleasingly busy on a Saturday night. We were seated easily without booking. The restaurant itself is looking very tired and the colours of blue make it feel cold and not very indian. The room could do with a warmer paint colour and some indian touches to the decor. We ordered a set menu which was reasonably... More

Literally just got home from this restaurant with family and the journey home revolved around wondering what we thought about the weird atmosphere and experience encountered. The wait was at least an hour, although many tables empty. The decor is well and truly dated, but appear to be pretty clean. However, apart from the loooong wait, the strange feelings started... We have been to the restaurant a number of times as our son and wife goes there on a regular basis, the food is always of good quality and the price reasonable. Normally the service is very good, however this time we had to wait for almost an hour for our main course to arrive. The only explanation from the... More

I go to Nirala at least once a month because it's consistently good; they're friendly and relaxed, they'll do anything for you and the value for money is superb. But more importantly, their curries are gorgeous. The menu may not be hugely creative and 'on trend', but every dish I have ever had has had great flavour and been really... More

This really was everything we hoped for - wonderful food served quickly by attentive waiters in an unpretentious restaurant. The chairs were comfortable and the tables of a sensible size for all the dishes - no feeling of being crammed in here. Overall great value; rather too low down the TripAdvisor ratings for Tewkesbury we feel...
