1st class Indian restaurant serving beautifully cooked Bengali & Balti cuisine. We started our meal with totally frash poppadums with an exceptional selection of dips pickles & chutneys. We enjoyed a range of starters including Onion Bhajee sheek kebab and shaslickl special. Excellent main courses included a memorable Lamb Passanda - rice and breads were 1st class. everything was served piping hot by pleasnt and caring staff in clean comfortable surroundings - just one complaint and that was the coffee could have been a better quality otherwise highly recommended by an ex hotels and restaurant inspector

Tasteless lamb with okra dish, no flavour no chilli at all. The meat was not cooked in the sauce and was of poor quality. They took the dish back to the chef so it came back just with added chilli. Swapped to a lamb tikka green curry. Again tasteless, bland awful. The prawn dish faired little better, also bland with... More

We went there on the 19th February. Took nearly 2 hours to get our food. Mixed experience. Some people enjoyed their naan breads but I couldn't eat mine as it had a terrible after taste. I don't drink alcohol and lived in Birmingham for 6 years. 2 of us were former West Midlanders so we were looking for a good... More

The Raj has been in Tewkesbury for many years. It has and still consistently serves great food. Whether eating in or taking away, the quality is always good. The menu choice is extensive, with specialties prepared to the Chefs own recipe If you love Indian food, you have to eat here.

My first visit, we went with my brother In Law on Valentines Day/Eve so would expect it to be busy. So if it was any other night not sure how it busy it would be. The welcome was okay, allowing for the fact it was very busy, we sat at the back of the restaurant, word of warning we where... More

Very wide range of menu options to choose from;we all tried something different. Beware if you ask for hot it will be HOT. Well cooked, simply presented. Visited on an extremely busy evening but felt staff coped well, looked a little harassed but service with a smile. Our seating was only about a 10 min delay. Cold evening and despite... More

Regularly use this Indian and have never had a problem has always been spot on and absolutely outstanding but the last few times when ordering a korma the meat was raw and horrid almost like fatty cut offs which should of been thrown away, tried it twice after hoping it was a one off but all 3 times the chicken... The food here is so good and imaginatively presented. Having been to India recently the food tastes as good. I went elsewhere aftre India and hardly recognised the food and I had tasted Southern Food as well food from the Darjeeling area

This place is brimming with character. It must be Grade II listed with lots of rustic charm. Staff are really friendly too - seemingly on first name terms with their regular customers. And we ate like Kings! Like a medieval banquet only with Indian food. My favourites were the King Prawn Bhoona curry and the Saag (Spinach) Bhaji. And congratulations... More
